And I really believe Fisher's schedule is not as tough as everyone is making it out to be.  They only play 2 tough road games.  IC is tough yes, but they are due to win there.  And, remeber SJF has never lost to SC @ SC.  I think they could go 9-1 with a lone loss to IC @ IC.

Every private college that has ever played at Butterfield is "due to win there."

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

Jose - Well put.  I agree it is an all too common sports cliche.  If a batter gets out of a slump, it isn't because he was "due"....furthermore, the manager isn't going to put said player in to pinch hit because he feels he is due.

Well put or not, I was still smited for it.  (Although it could have been the Kramer joke)

With all the sex offender jokes that were made this fall I think we missed that.  Nice one.

EDIT: IMDB comes through with a strong comparator:

Here we go...

I would say Fisher is due to win @ Butterfield.  They are too strong a program now to keep losing every time they play there.  It's just a matter of time before it happens.  My guess is it will be this season since IC has no offense and the Fisher defense should be absolutely incredible (even after losing Lang).  And, by the way, Reile IS an every down back.  He has an excellent mix of speed and strength for a back of his size.  I'll guarantee he rushes for over 1,000 yards this season.  Plus he can catch the ball out of the backfield, or he can split wide.  I can't wait for the season I'm gettin fired up!!

has IC released their schedule yet?  Do they play Kings this season?  What about Huntingdon?  IC fans please let me know.  I'm curious about the IC non-conference slate.

Pretty much any RB can rush for 1,000yds behind SJF's O-line!  I guarantee that the top 3 RB's on their depth chart can rush for 1,000yds, so your not reaching too much there....

IC doesn't release its schedule until all the game contracts are back.

Huntingdon was a one year contract.

IC's OOC games are Lyco, 'Port, Kings and Cortland.

You are one of three people on the planet that think Reille is an every down back.  The other two people are Reille and windbag and Reille is probably on the fence about it.

Let's not run right to "they are too strong a program now" either.  It's not like Mount Union is coming to town.  They have been the playoffs twice now, made a nice run to the semis, and seem to have things pointed in the right direction.  I think you have to sustain this for more than the career of Mark Robinson before you have a "strong program."  I am not knocking what they have accomplished in a short period of time (Prior to 2002 they had never taken a snap on the IC side of the 50 yard line at Butterfield) but they still have to prove they can stick.  We have seen too many teams hit peaks and valleys to just jump on another peak and be scared.  (See Brockport circa Darnley the Dartmaker, TCNJ, Buff State, etc.)

True...Buff State is probably the best example. not too long ago they were one of the top teams in the area. I would like to think Fisher is building a program that can sustain the high level of play they have shown over the last 3-4 years. They have gotten better and better every year since I was a sophmore. Robinson was the key to the last  years, obviously, but 2 years ago when Robinson went down with a shoulder injury Fisher was fine with Reile in the backfield. (94 yards against IC in 3 quarters, and 1000 yards for the year). The O-line is the big reason for Fisher to be excited. They can score on teams because they control the line of scrimmage.

I think Fisher can win at Butterfield this year. They probably should have won two years ago. If you were at the game you know Fisher was winning the entire game, and gave the win away with a fumble in the last 2 minutes, and a pick in overtime. Now I think Butterfield may have had something to do with it, but even 4 years ago, fisher was ahead 19 to nothing at the half at IC. IC is tough to beat at home, but Fisher can do it. I don't think it has anything to do with being due, Fisher could just be the better team...I know it sounds crazy, but you never know. Well, that is a Fisher Fan talking of course.

Should be a lot of fun on the 22nd of September. I am already planning the tailgate party...
GO FISHER!!!
