If he goes to another NCAA school he will have to sit a year.  I bet he just sucks it up at 'Wick.

This is incorrect.

I stand corrected.  What is the rule?  Is it the scholarship rule realistic posted?

Pat Coleman

You can transfer within Division III without sitting out a year -- after all, these kids are paying $40,000 or more a year for the privilege.

However, a couple of conferences restrict transfers between conference schools. The CCIW and WIAC are among them and the restrictions vary.

A Division I, I-AA or II player coming to D-III does not have to sit out either.

Of course, all of this is dependent on the student being eligible at the school he/she is leaving. If they are ineligible at the school they're leaving then they are ineligible at the receiving school as well.

So Pat, who do you think is going to win the E8 next fall?

Pat Coleman

I try to stay away from making predictions -- just like you should stay away from quoting NCAA rules. :)

Are you implying that my lack of understanding of NCAA rules is similar to your ability to make a prediction?

Just kidding, we all just wanted a free preview of The Kickoff

Pat Coleman

I wouldn't want to commit without having more information in front of me. Too early for that.

Lew while I agree with most of your picks, I'm only going to raise the debate of...Fisher stopped Springfield at home and Ithaca has been very good defensivly against the Pride

Of course.  But SJF lost their RB.  I'm sure SJF will be #1 in the E8 in preseason polls.  Just my prediction.  Springfield had their down years and I think they are  back on track.

realistic

also - historically SC has 2 solid years with "star" QB's running that system.  I would say that the pride is the team to beat (as much as there can be one in May).  Cahill was real solid for 2 years, and I would guess Sharpe could put up same/better number this year.

That being said, it will be an interesting year, SJF has to recover from some losses but should be just about as good, IC has the potential but needs a breakout year from Juvan and AU needs to string together a couple more wins to go from spoiler to contender.  3 1/2 months....

I think Fisher will have a little trouble towards the begining of the season to adjust to life without Robinson. I am guessing they will have a real tough game against IC early (I think it is the third game) and that will be the real test to how the season will go. If they can win that game I think they can make a run at a league title. I do think the winner of the league will lose one game this year. It is real good league. I see it like this I guess:

IC
Fisher
SC
AU
Hartwick
UC
Norwich...
GO FISHER!!!

I'm sure this will earn you +K from Budcrew for keeping UC out of last place.

He probably needs a lift this week... after all the bad news coming out of the DEI camp.

TGP thinks the bigger question re: the cards is how many guys from the OL are coming back.   Robinson was definitely a talented back, but you have to give the OL some, if not a lot, of credit for his numbers last season.
