An interesting topic MIOH.

Here are my top 5 Bomber Football moments (for which I was present):

1. The goalline stand to close Chugger Davis with under a minute to go in 2000.

2. Struzzi to the House.

3. Mark McDonough blocking the PAT against SC in 2001 to seal the 1-point win (after SC finally broke through for an 70 or 80 yard score to presumably tie the game).

4. BY to the totally uncovered Mike Marks for a 70-yard TD in the 2001 Cortaca win.

5. Felicetti to Luke McCann to Aaron Fiorini at Fisher in 2002.

Honorable mention:  Connor Mulkeen's tip catch while laying on his back in the corner of the end zone against an opponent I can't remember;  The 16-13 win over Wilkes in 2001 (both teams were really good and played really hard); Jose Colon's first career tackle that resulted in the total dismemberment of a Utica player; Bob Darnley getting knocked unconcious by McDonough after the play because he flipped the (fledgling) FDC the bird; and Nik Busko's career-high 90 yard sprint to interview Dave Maddi after splitting his pants on the opening kickoff.

Jose - great list.  1, 3 and 4 are definately on my list.  I would add any Ron Amato punt return and Sheeler's performance at Montclair in the 2001 playoffs after the cheap hit took BY out of the game.

Some side notes - the Cortaca stand was followed by a buddy of mine going face first over the fence in classic form.  Also - I am shocked your Busko moment isn't higher.  We spent about 3 minutes of dead air on the broadcast because we were laughing so hard we couldn't speak.

IC got lucky in 2005 basically.  We were a much better team but blew the game.  Thats my honest opinion about 2005.  After we win this year in 2007 I would say we are the new kings of the E8.

Which part was luck?

Felicetti throwing for 300 yards?

Baez going for 155 yards in the second half?

The 14 point comeback?

Or the pick six?

Just curious...

IC is pretty lucky...

37 consecutive winning seasons
3 National Championships

FA05... I know I shouldn't need to remind you, but...

Fisher has never won anything at Butterfield

In fact, the last team to beat Ithaca at Home (aside from Cortland) was Brockport in 2001.

But... they are probably "due" for a loss

I think Fan of D3 is a springfield guy.  Other than that I can't think of any and he hasn't been around much this off-season.

According to the SC website, the whole backfield is returning and looking at the 2006 roster, I only count 11 seniors.  I'd say SC is still looking good for 2007.  Also new in '07 is new turf...

Listen I understand that IC has a great program and they have won national titles.  I have more respect for the IC program than anybody trust me.  I just like to get on here, talk some trash, and have some fun.  If I ever offend anybody I'm sorry.

Fisher is truly an up and coming program.  I think they are "due" to win at Butterfield.  When two programs are very good, like IC and Fisher, the visiting team will win at some point.  Will it be this year?  I don't know obviously.  But this year seems like a great opportunity.  Fisher is coming off an incredible season with almost every starter coming back besides Robinson and Lang (two all americans).  IC is coming off a dissapointing season and have a big question mark at the most important position, QB.

I know one thing, it will be a great game and I will be @ Butterfield enjoying it!

Chairman, you are deinately right.  IC played good that day I will admit that.  Baez was great in the second half.

But Fisher was in total control of the game.  When Robinson went down with the separated shoulder in the 2nd quarter the game changed.  Our running game became less effective and we were forced to pass to our only big threat that season, Fehrenbach.

I still think we had more talent that season.  But I was wrong to say you were "lucky."  IC won the game in the second half.  all that matters is the score at the end of the game.

dude - you're not offending anyone.  The thing is, your last post makes sense.  You cited reasons why you think SJF will win and IC will lose.  The earlier post makes you sound like a moron saying things like IC got lucky.  You, obviously, know too much about football to go with statements like the first  one.

You are definately right.  I just got a little touchy about the whole Struzzi play!!  Haha.  I'm good now though.

Fisheralum91,

the Fisher game against Utica is @ Fisher.  You making the trip?  I had several friends that played for the Pioneers.  Were making a trip of it.  Anyways, talk to you boys later!

How about Fisher remains "due" until 2009, so the Saxons can end the Bomber home streak on 11/3.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

AU had a shot to win at Butterfield a while back.  In fact, I should add that game to my Honorable Mention list:  Jesse Raynor.

I was not there for the Sheeler moment so I had to leave it off.  Amato was pretty amazing returning punts too but I couldn't pick a single return to put on the list.

As for Busko, I think he may have to move to a whole separate list.  Top 5 IC Football Broadcast moments I witnessed:

1. Busko getting smoked by the return man on the opening kickoff.  Why hadn't YouTube been invented yet?

2. Will Weiss opening a broadcast saying "As you can see the fall foliage is about 78% complete"  and Capra cracking up.

3.  A certain Cornell Assistant Coach saying on the air that he wasn't wearing any pants because he never pre-read notes we gave him. (I believe the actual quote was "Tommy Giorgio is now 3rd on the all time scoring list and I am not wearing any pants.")

4. Alhart and Daley making Seth Cantor interview the police dog during Cortaca.

5. A Freshman sideline reporter guessing that the ice on BY's neck was somehow related to the last hit he took (in which he was knocked unconcious for the second time and had to be carried off the field).

Honorable Mention:  Micah Karg seeing his bike get stolen from the press box and running out for it;  Any thing Lisch said;  Seth Cantor opening a 2001 broadcast at Mansfield by announcing that Gavin Stackhouse had been activated from the reserves and deployed to Afghanistan only to say "And there is the opening kickoff and the tackle is made by....um....Gavin Stackhouse."
