Quote from: realistic on May 17, 2007, 11:42:20 AMJose - great list.  1, 3 and 4 are definately on my list.  I would add any Ron Amato punt return and Sheeler's performance at Montclair in the 2001 playoffs after the cheap hit took BY out of the game.

Some side notes - the Cortaca stand was followed by a buddy of mine going face first over the fence in classic form.  Also - I am shocked your Busko moment isn't higher.  We spent about 3 minutes of dead air on the broadcast because we were laughing so hard we couldn't speak.

I was not there for the Sheeler moment so I had to leave it off.  Amato was pretty amazing returning punts too but I couldn't pick a single return to put on the list.

As for Busko, I think he may have to move to a whole separate list.  Top 5 IC Football Broadcast moments I witnessed:

1. Busko getting smoked by the return man on the opening kickoff.  Why hadn't YouTube been invented yet?

2. Will Weiss opening a broadcast saying "As you can see the fall foliage is about 78% complete"  and Capra cracking up.

3.  A certain Cornell Assistant Coach saying on the air that he wasn't wearing any pants because he never pre-read notes we gave him. (I believe the actual quote was "Tommy Giorgio is now 3rd on the all time scoring list and I am not wearing any pants.")

4. Alhart and Daley making Seth Cantor interview the police dog during Cortaca.

5. A Freshman sideline reporter guessing that the ice on BY's neck was somehow related to the last hit he took (in which he was knocked unconcious for the second time and had to be carried off the field).

Honorable Mention:  Micah Karg seeing his bike get stolen from the press box and running out for it;  Any thing Lisch said;  Seth Cantor opening a 2001 broadcast at Mansfield by announcing that Gavin Stackhouse had been activated from the reserves and deployed to Afghanistan only to say "And there is the opening kickoff and the tackle is made by....um....Gavin Stackhouse."

I know the mention of his name will probably set off red flags w/ Pat...

But Keith Hannon has 2 classics that I can recall...

"His balls are really wobbling all over the place today"

(Referring to a punter warming up on a windy day)

And

"It seems like everybody at Alfred is going both ways these days"

This was during the Raynor Era

I remember the second one.   Not sure I ever heard the first one.

Hey alum05- honestly ive only made 1 game in the past 15 years- so the next 2 will be at IC for the E8 nation meeting and probably homecoming.  Next time you are in utica-----a cold one you shal have on an old alum!

At the behest of the high chairman, I'll give my top 5:

1) Jeff Kasarjian singing the national anthem with his arm in a full cast.

2) Struzzi to the house.

3) A student known only as "Aquaman" that crashed the car of an IC sports official under the scoreboard minutes before gametime in '04.

4) Chris Sharpe, hype, buried in Ithaca slop last season.

5) Sitting in a dorm room with another kid freshman year, taunting Jeff Kasarjian, who is in the hallway. He comes running at us, so we slam the door. Instead of opening it, he jump-kicks it, but all we see is the mirror on the other side of it smashing into little pieces. Also living on that floor that year was Felicetti, who in around March said he still didn't know his roommate's name.

6) Winning the Jug at ho.... ah, sh*t.

I think the Chairman is responsible for providing cold ones to all of E8 nation... isn't that part of the prize for winning E8 poster of the year?

The mets are Amazin... they are going to sweep the subway series this weekend.  I've been watching the gamecast victory over the cubs at the office all day.

welcome back and +K to max... it's good to see another Bomber coming back to the boards in may.

The Chairman is working on a sponsor for the event.  More to come on that front.

The Chairman has many irons in the fire and many secrets to reveal but he has to keep them under his hat for the time being.

I wish I had a fancy title (not that I'm creative enough to come up with one so screw it  :D)... instead I'm stuck with Norwich Representative!

I guess in a year I will be the International delegate from the NJAC.

The distinguished gentleman from Norwich?

Not bad not bad at all!

My favorite IC moment is Darnley giving the suck it sign at Butterfield and then sucking it himself....... oh wait.

realistic

yeah - I think the "suck it" sign was better than the finger.  My problem was trying to explain it on the air...it was not easy.

Side note - Ithaca Brewery was at Hop Devil in NYC last night.  Very nice stuff, however the double IPA was me working a bit of a hangover this morning.  I'm guessing not a lot gets done on the work front this morning.

OH, before you get into the subway series, you should tune into the Bombers who are up 6-1 in the bottom of the 5th of the winners bracket final in the NY Regional.

A win today and tomorrow sends the Bombers back to the series.
