I live in Naples, FL.  Beautiful area.  Very steamy this time of year, but the lack of traffic is a breath of fresh air.

It hasn't even begun to get steamy yet TDT.  Is this your first year in the Sunshine State?

I agree, this has been a VERY cool summer down here, considering it's usually 90 everyday by now.

Sir Spiedie

Spiedie agrees it has been nice so far. Enjoy it while you can.
By the way, there really is a strong Fl presence here.
Speaking of Fl, spring ball ended a week ago for all of our high schools, with spring games topping off three weeks of practice. Back to the weight rooms, gentlemen!

Defending 4A State Champ H.B. Plant High School in Tampa (where a young Chairman cut his teeth) has reloaded at QB (after wishing Mr. Florida Football Robert Marve well on his way to the U) and is ready for another run.

Spiede, did you catch any of the spring action in Lakeland?  How are the 'Naughts going to replace the 1,207 players they sent to Urban Meyer?

What ever happened to NNR?  He is a Tampa football guy too...

Sir Spiedie

Lakeland defeated Manatee in the spring game fairly handily.

Pep has completed a most successful band recruiting season and is very much looking forward to another promising AU football season. Mind you, the band is still very green but has been working hard in the off-season and has actually worked up a very nice halftime routine that was videotaped during its final spring session. I offer that video for your viewing and listening enjoyment:

Damn Pep, I was looking forward to the season, but now I'm really excited (double entendre intended).  When do we start rehearsals with the new recruits?
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Fellas: I am well aware of the sticky days ahead.  I've been in South Fla full time for 2 years now.  I actually don't mind the summers, you spend lots of time drinking plenty of cold bevies, dipping in the swimming pool, grilling, boating, and when hot retire to the A/C havens...

Are all of you clowns in the Tampa area?
Chasing MILFs since '82...

I am.  Born and raised.

Spiede is in Polk County and PG04 is in Miami I think.

Yeah, some of these guys were talking about Florida and it being steamy.....AU Pep Band is gonna be HOT! HOT! HOT!

So long as you have permission from Mrs. AUKaz00, rehearsals with the new recruits will begin with Band Camp. Which reminds me, this one time at band camp...
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

I like the move.  What else does he have to prove at UF?  When I first saw the reports the first thing that came to my mind was the grind of recruiting.  Sure enough, Foley mentioned that in his comments.  Good for Billy D.  All the talk of being a legend if he stayed sounds like eyewash to me.  Gator Basketball was a nice distraction during non-football season in Gainesville but he was never going to be remembered like The Ol' Ballcoach.  UF was, is and ever shall be a football school.

Why would the magic do that though?  When is that last college coach that was succesful in the NBA?  Good for Billy D but still, hes going to have a tough time there.

Larry Brown has had a pretty sucessful NBA career.

This is a better job than some of those other college coaches went into.  The Magic were the best team in the East for the first three or four months of the season before going into the tank.  Its not like he is going into Memphis.

I think the 25.5 million will help ease the pain.  Plus it makes for good television when he fails at the pro level and then goes back to college and takes on a program like Florida State... perennial losers... always 1 big win away from the dance.

I don't know.  Rick Pitino was pretty successful in the NBA.

I was in Gainesville this year for the Ol' Ballcoach's return as a cock and it was a bad scene.  I couldn't even imagine how Gator Nation would react to this scenario.  It would be memorable.
