Oh No! Turmoil in E8Nation!  Maybe I should abdicate to the NJAC board sooner than next year!   :D

or make a run to become SUPER High Chairman PG04....

Anyway, The dog days of Summer (almost) continue...

Pat, the fun of all that was not the "outing" of the SID, it was lambasting the wanton unprofessionalism exhibited thereby. I think I actually posted taking back the whole "outing" angle from all of it.

Grammar may not be correct in that last sentence. Now THERE'S something that should have a manual.

Wait, there IS a manual for that? Alert SI Departments everywhere!

Double KO from the Guru as my username has magically changed.

Apparently PC does not respect the democratic process of E8Nation.

EDIT: And I have been smited about 6 times.

Three times, according to the records, in the past 24 hours.

If your handle remained in E8Nation, I might let it stay up. However, you proved your expertise doesn't even extend to all E8 issues, as shown again today.

Meanwhile, you didn't claim expertise?

SJF just [violated NCAA rules by sending out a newsletter that] included a list of their top recruits who have "committed" to SJF.

Sorry Pat, but I know this rule because I have run across an issue with it before.  I don't have the rule in front of me but the gist of it says that a school is not allowed to publicize an incoming recruit until the student athlete enrolls.

Sounds like a real sparring match here.....leave for a couple of weeks...er'.... months and Jose and Pat are litigating.....

No matter how you slice it SJF is the hottest ticket in recruiting in most of NY State.....only one way to restore the order.......see you at Butterfield......

Speaking of recruits....what's up at Alfred and Springfield as far as new blood???

Any word from the great southern tier?????

Or, the fine State of Mass.?

  Nobody...and I MEAN NOBODY......

I received the Fisher newsletter myself and the recruiting class really looks amazing.  A stud transfer, good QB's and some huge OL and DL.  I'm getting very excited!!  I wonder what the recruiting looks like for other E8 teams??  Anybody know?

Also, I would assume it is perfectly fine to send out a letter to alumni of the program stating incoming recruits.  I guarantee you that Coach Vos wouldn't do it if it was against the rules!  He has been coaching for a long time and he probably checked with the NCAA prior to doing it.

Wow- i get busy and i come back to all this reading?
Whew.
Glad the recruiting class looks good for the alma mater.
The Jose/Pat sparring match hopefully subside and we can go back to the usual hum drum debate over who has the better looking cheerleaders.   :P

OH--btw---does this mean that the first mtg of E8 nation is a bust?

theoriginalupstate

Man,  I do I know how to get things going in here or what?

fisheralum91

ya shook the tree upstate!!

Speaking of which, "bziadie" seems to have been de-registered from the boards; personal decision or disciplinary action?

Pat Coleman

He removed himself.

Here's a write up from ESPN.com on a SJF recruit.....

Dominic Fotia
OT | 6'7" 295

Hometown: Lockport, NY
School: Lockport High School
Region: Atlantic    Status: Undeclared

Last Updated: 11/21/2006  Data provided by Scouts, Inc.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scouts Grade: 75
Position Rank: OT #64
Considering: No schools at this time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evaluation: Fotia has a huge frame with good weight distribution for a right tackle. He plays well at defensive tackle but projects well athletically as an offensive tackle. He attacks defenders with a powerful punch and maintains good posture. He fires out well and will take a good initial step and always takes a good angle to his block. He can engulf defenders with his size and collapse the whole side of the line. He plays with decent balance and awareness. He plays with a good base but must not allow his feet to stop after contact. He sets up well in pass pro and will do an adequate job of moving laterally. The problem with Fotia is he must become more athletic and must add strength and be able to sink his hips to be more effective at the point of attack. He must work on his ability to sustain blocks and apply pressure to the defender. He sometimes will stop his feet and overextend allowing the defender to spill over the top.. Overall, Fotia is a player who can develop into an impact guy at the college level. He can add some bulk to his frame and improve his athletic ability and flexibility. He is a player that can improve with continued playing time and could become a top prospect.

GroScouts.com has a similar writeup

Dominic Fotia
OT | 6'7" 295

Evaluation: Fotia has a huge frame with good weight distribution for a right tackle. This is one big mofo. He plays well at defensive tackle but projects well athletically as an offensive tackle. Too slow for defense. Plus, he smells. He attacks defenders with a powerful punch and maintains good posture. He's much bigger than most high schoolers he faces. He fires out well and will take a good initial step and always takes a good angle to his block. He can't wait to get out of that painful 3 point stance. He can engulf defenders with his size and collapse the whole side of the line. Did I mention he was a big mofo? He plays with decent balance and awareness. He also has a left foot and a right foot. He plays with a good base but must not allow his feet to stop after contact. He's satified with a stalemate. He sets up well in pass pro and will do an adequate job of moving laterally. The problem with Fotia is he must become more athletic and must add strength and be able to sink his hips to be more effective at the point of attack. Laying off the krispy kremes wouldn't hurt either. He must work on his ability to sustain blocks and apply pressure to the defender. This problem will correct itself once his nuts drop. He sometimes will stop his feet and overextend allowing the defender to spill over the top. Never learned to block, he's just bigger then the guy across the line.

Overall, Fotia is a player who can develop into an impact guy at the college level. He can add some bulk to his frame and improve his athletic ability and flexibility. He is a player that can improve with continued playing time and could become a top prospect.  Welcome to Division 3!!

Artie Bucco's not dogging the kid... more so poking fun at the writeup process itself. but if it's my karma you want, drink up.
