Any one else notice that on Fishers coaching staff they have two coaches that have the position of "Quality Control"?

http://athletics.sjfc.edu/roster.asp?playerid=462&sport=3

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THIS JOB?

Can you imagine the monday meeting for the "Quality Control Coach"!?

"uhhh, welll, we won saterday.  Quality is good."

pbr's friend started coaching in the pro's (baltimore ravens) this way...it included lots of breaking down game film and setting up game plans etc...after 2 years of doing this he was offered a position of coaching lb's in san fran when mike nolan left to coach there but he ended up staying in bmore coaching ray lewis et al....

The QC Coach is the main "data monkey" breaking down film and analyzing trends... good experience but sounds like a lot of work and no glory.

Question to the E8, do any of the schools use film software packages like the pro's use? I don't know much about them (like the actual name of the software) but you basically tag each play with players, time, down/distance, play type, outcome, etc. and can pull up any play(s) based on what you're looking for.

If Fisher has a QC coach... I think they might be using this system (RPI is supposed to get one in the next year or so).

Side note:  the Bills report to Ra-cha-cha today.  It was quite funny watching the athletes carrying their TV's, sleeping bags, and other items into the dorms.   Mind you their Ferrari's, Hummers, and Beemers are sitting in the student parking lots.

Ya gotta love training camp.  My buddy works for a radio station in Rochester and was working a promo at a bar last summer when Losman and 2 linemen tried to get into the bar.  The bouncer didn't recognize them and the linemen werent dressed according to the dress code so he wasn't letting them in.  Luckily someone recognized them and went and got the owner...who let them in.

When I covered the Vikings, training camp was hysterical.  They give the players bikes to get around campus...watching offensive linemen on bikes headed to lunch is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Not sure what IC is using now but they didn't have a digital system when I was there.

Took a tour of the Bucs new facility the other day and they have the most incredible film system.  Not only do they have a computer system you are talking about but, it is all stored on cetralized servers and available anywhere in the building.  So any coach can pull up any clip on the flat screen in their office or on the flat screen in any meeting room, and any player can pull up any clip on the flat screen hangining in their locker.

"...The Bills also released undrafted rookie free agents Aaron Brown, a receiver who signed with the team in May, and cornerback Duane Coleman."

Aaron Brown, went to HS in Central New Yorkwith NSRB and then played at UNH.
... anybody need a good WR?   Cinciny?  Oakland? ... anybody?  I figured the Bills needed all the help they could get. Go Colts.

a flat screen in every locker, that is a nice touch Mr. Glazer... I wonder if teammates pull up eachothers worst plays to taunt them.

Simms "not cool..."

I would assume that in Cerache the Bombers probably do not have any fancy servers with game film from 4 years ago.  They probably have the art students paint them pictures of the other teams plays.......... Dubbz, NSRB, MIOH, MIYH, or Tecmo need to win the lottery so the bombers can update.

I would not doubt that SJF have those fancy systems.  The bills probably installed them and let SJF use them in their season.

Cardinal fans:  whats the news with a new SJF stadium???

dubbz- a new stadium?

Gordon, all that work to pick your 25th team, and you're not a hall of famer? Send my regards to Art Monk. ;)

p.s. Week 2: Pumpkins vs Mellons.

here here couldnt agree more gro...for goodness sakes PC put the man in the hall already!!!  pbr's head is still spinning trying to filter all those facts.

Gordon is staff, not eligible for the Hall of Fame. He's on the Guru track, looking to join me and Keith and Jim Dixon (baseball).
Is Hall of Fame based on post number?
I will also quote myself in order to get reply 20,000 on the E8 board. Boo-bam!

"Boo-bam"?

Also, Pat, what do they have to do to get cool stars like yours? Or is that your trademark?

RunningRobby25

Fisher did get a new system to do films with this year but I don't know if it was a direct result from the Bills being there.
I know coach Parks brought the idea over from Albany where he played and coached, all I know is it's ran from laptops and there's plenty of things to do with it... wouldn't doubt if it were comprable to what the NFL teams are using...

fisheralum91

hey rob!
what are the odds that growney will have indoor plumbing this year------too many UC's make for frequent trips to the outhouse and that wasnt fun!!!
tho the game was!
