SJFCARDS-  Fisher signed a kid from Horseheads down here where we're from who put up big numbers in section 4- he's a good sized boy too-maybe he can fill the shoes at FB like Mark did as a frosh

watching Horseheads football is like watching paint dry.   but, they compete every year for the Class AA state and Section titles.

FA91-  the Kelvinator was a big old Ammana fridge we had in the house for a long time, but it got retired to the back porch-it was huge, I think I had well over 300 cans in that sucker for my daughter's grad

Cubs/Mets series should be a lot of fun. I'd probably assert that the Cubs are the favorites to win on Friday and Sunday.  I don't see us hitting Maine too well.

C'mon guy, Jason Marquis favored against Glavine on Sunday night? Glavine has struggled on the road this year but I think he's so determined to get 300 and the team will be up for the game after letting the game slip away the other night. You will never, ever hear me say that a team pitching Jason effing Marquis should be favored over a team starting Glavine.

Bombers15-

Glavine-  9-6, 4.38 ERA 137IP, 141H 49BB, 62K
Marquis- 8-6, 4.22ERA  128 IP, 117H, 52BB, 72 K

not so rowdy bomber

NSRB misses hungoverbomber's kegerator from the den.  that thing would have cheered up even the best bomber fan after a rough cortaca game-  the best part about it was that hungoverbomber always used a used-gallon milk jug to consume his beverage from the Geadsorator

Not sure if the Glavine goes for 300 angle works either.  Baseball certainly isn't like football, or even basketball, where pure determination can carry the day.  Look at poor AROD.

Any intangible that gives the Mets will surely be offset by Wrigley on a Sunday Night, the return of Kerry, and the Cubs sitting in first.

Wasn't Marquis like 6-1 early in the season after his 1 hitter...

Weren't the Mets up by a comfortable margin in the division not too long ago?

Then, by your logic, shouldn't the Mets be favored against Zambrano considering El Duque's ERA is more than a half run lower than Zambrano's?

Correct. He's sucked since. I dropped him from my fantasy team about a month ago. He has three "quality starts" in his last ten outings. That's not good.

Note: He actually only has four quality starts in his last 15 outings. Even worse than I thought.

*For those who don't know, a quality start is pitching at least six innings and giving up three or less earned runs.

Don't make MIOH start hating on the cubs.

You've been in 1st place for 17 hours and your already starting to sound like a yanks or a sox fan.

Marquis was 5-1 w/ an era of 2.60... and has since gone downhill... MIOH was merely pointing out some truth to your stats

MIOH thinks that 299 wins probably makes Tommy G as good of a pitcher as Jason Marquis
-And Tommy G has a hot wife
-And his kids wear #5 jerseys to his games
