starters in the mlb over here have it made.  in japan guys are throwin 20 additional pitches between innings to keep their arms "warm."

Its crazy to think that high school kids are throwing 100-120 pitches every 3 days.   (Tecmo doesnt do this with his kids btw). MLB guys get yanked 80 pitches in.  Not to mention they have genious therapists and unlimited amounts of money to invest in rehab for pitchers in between games. Oh well, i guess with them being paid millions they would rather be sure they get something in return then chancing injury by going an extra 15 pitches.

Big Z is so much fun to watch. I hope and pray we can resign him.

He's gonna be a met next year!

You'd love to watch him every fifth day.

He looks like he's on the verge of exploding at the home plate umpire through 2 innings.  Not getting many calls on the outside part of the plate.  I would not want to face Carlos in a dark alley.

That at-bat to Wright in the first was funky... probably three out of the four pitches were strikes.

He righted the ship though, and seems to be cruising.  A couple years past he would have imploded in the first.

Brenly's talking pitch count.  He's gotta be right around 70 through 4.  I know he's no Livan Hernandez, but would it be surprising to see him go 7 innings and throw 130 or so pitches, especially considering the bullpen must be shot after the Philly series?

Gotta score to win boys!

We're moving in to our new temporary home, so I'll be taping the rest, and watching it in slow-mo frame by frame when I get home.  Hope there's something to celebrate!

You live in NY so you'll get to watch him on SNY next year. The Mets are going to throw a ton of money at him.

Unless the Yankees or Sox throw more money.

Yeah- rumor has it Nowicki is not coming back for his 5th year of eligibility...
I believe he already has a full time job out west somewhere.

Not positive but something about earning a living, got to do what is right for yourself.
Don't know the situation but I am willing to bet most out of school would make a different decision. Good Luck to him, he was fun to watch.

Warning- Sour Grapes Ahead!

Just watched the tape of the game today, and it was total crap.  The Mets scored their second run after Marmol had already thrown three strikes to Newhan.  Too bad Tim McClellan (the first base umpire!) decided to call time out after Marmol had thrown, and wiped out the pitch.

#2-  Wright was struck out in the ninth.  No excuse for Dempster's implosion, but come on. The 2-2 pitch caught half the plate.

Lousy.  Try again tomorrow.

Nice outing by El Duque!

Just watched it again and it made me more angry.  Where on earth did that 2-2 pitch miss to Wright. Pathetic.

Salty seeds.

FYI-  Dempster's ERA against the Mets is now 135.00
