when is the e8 draft

I posted that question on the ESPN message board.  Figured I wouldn't crowd the E8 board.

"i can't wait to line up on saterday and see if your boys are as tough as you guys build them up to be."

We almost stayed out there for good.  What an awesome town.  We had a blast.

It's a little smug out there if you ask MIOH.

SF would also make the Butterfield run more difficult... MIOH is glad you'll stinking to your southern roots.

do you think they are smug because they drive ergonomic hydropods?

or is it the tofurkey?

1) RE: Nicest E8 Campus. This is a boat race. I'm a native Rochesterian and I don't mind Fisher's campus. I think a good word for it is "quaint." Then again, that's how I'd describe everything in Pittsford. The buildings are average, at best. A little better than Ithaca's. However, the campus as a whole really can't compare to IC's. Saying "yeah, the view is nice at IC" is like saying "yeah, the greens and fairways are pretty nice at Oak Hill"; just a vast understatement. I like Norwich's campus, too. I'd say Fisher comes in a solid 3rd in that department.

2) Re: Yankees. Wake me up when they beat someone relevant. I actually find myself rooting for the Yanks to make the playoffs now. I can never get enough of those early October collapses.

The PGF game was today.  I thanked her for taking me to the game and said I'd call her soon and kissed her goodbye.

Wooooooooooooooo!  Next thing you know you'll be at Goodyear lake floating on an inntertube w/ her... while Mikey makes fun of you... as he grills his tufo burgers.

She's a red sox fan, so I'm taking her when they play the Chisox in a couple weeks. I haven't had her over to my place since then, because my roommate, The Great Salt Lake had his frat brothers in town, and one of them peed on the futon mattress, which is making the whole apartment smell like pee.

Lumpy,

Do the boys report to Bomberland this friday?  Practice start next Monday?

Side Note:  Lady Dubbz finished her first Triatholon this weekend.  Talk about a madness sport!  Good goly there were 800 people doin' this thing.  All in rediculously skinny running shape.  These people were the type of people to turn down a sweet 17 so they can go for a quick 5 mile run.   Anyways, Lady Dubbz went for the 1 mile swim, 14 mile bike ride, and 5 mile run.  What was interesting was in between these the spectators really had nothing to do.  So, Dubbz sat in his Bomber chair under a shady tree waiving his Go Bombers #1 finger and drinking sweet PBR.   Yeah Triatholons!

I saw that triathlon. Was in town for a wedding and the brunch was at Taughannock Farms Inn and almost took out a State Trooper near the triathlon. You're right, everyone looked in awesome shape. In fact, I could watch the runners and bikers as I ate my second raspberry danish.

+K for the "second raspberry danish"....Pep goes for the cheese danish, but is also happy to say he ran a 5K during AU Reunion and cut 4 minutes off his Hot Dog Day 5k....

Hello E8Nation.  The (Former) Chairman is back from a week of honeymooning in Northern California.  After 7 days of food and wine I am more than ready for Football season.

Now that the coaching staff is rounded out, it seems like it is time for the boys to report to camp.

Who knows what about the Bomber freshman?

Jose:
The honeymoon's over....and the highlight of your seven days was eating and drinking? Was there no making merry?  ;)

yes the fisher campus is incredibly small...but what does that have to do with it being nice and having nice ammenities... I'm sure the view in Norwich is great but as far as overall campus...Fisher has the nice sceneray and the great buildings...

and intresting stat... in the 25 games since the allstar break the yankees are averaging 7.6 runs per game... that is pretty sick overall they are at 5.9 runs per game...

Pep recalls a great view of the passing cars on I-490 throughout a videotape of past AU-Fisher contests at Growney. Inspiring....  ;)

this year I'll settle for just making the playoffs after the start they had, although I think their chances might be better than in previous Octobers b/c the rotation is stronger and devoid of Kevin Brown, Jaret Wright, Javier Vazquez, etc.

The Yanks and BoSox both have a ton of young talent, especially pitching, just starting to hit the big leagues; it's going to be fun seeing the rivalry take on all these new faces as the decade wears on.

Schedule, shmedule, GB15.  Everybody's gotta play the Royals and Devil Rays sometime....and a fan of an NL team calling out an AL team's slate gives me a good chuckle.

and they're not just beating these teams....they are destroying them... the yankees have been scoring in almost double digits every game...and if arod goes on another tear....the yanks could catch up with da sox... and not settle for the wc

I said it was quaint. It's not bad. However, I don't find myself ever stepping back and saying "wow, this is pretty awesome" or "I can't get this in most of the rest of the country." Sorry, but that's tough to dispute. Overall, though, it's a pretty nice campus.

Post All-Star Break

Mets
-3-1 v. playoff contending teams (wins over LA, Chicago, Milwaukee...loss to SD)
-all those on the road

Yanks
-Haven't played one team w/in 6 games of a playoff spot

Just saying that they haven't really beaten anyone since the All-Star break and everyone is taking out the lollipops. Just a little unwarranted right now.

Again, I ask who have they beaten? They're beating the tar out of terrible teams and pitchers. Look at the numbers, fella. During the reign of destruction, they're only 3-3 against winning pitchers (Yanks result in parentheses):

J. Shields (W)
Kazmir (L)
Marcum (W)
McGowan (L)
J. Shields (W)
J. Guthrie (L)

And James Shields isn't exactly Cy Young. They have a big 20-game stretching coming up (@Cle, vs Bal, vs Det, @LAA, @Det, vs Bos). If they go 12-8 or better on the trip, let's talk. Until then, let's call this what it is: the Yanks ripping inferior teams that are nowhere close to what they'll be playing when it matters (even assuming they make the playoffs).

ok everyone has to play the same teams...so they had a nice stretch...remember that before the all-star break they took 5 of 7 from minnesota and LA...so I think that was decent...and yes they are beating easy teams but they aren't just beating teams they are destroying them right now...that's more than just beating
