Hey E8 fans, its been way too long since ive posted and had to get a new handle.  Hope everyone is playing nice as usual!   Just wondering what bomber fans are making the trip to Williamsport, PA next month.

well.  i wonder what coach Welch put the Bombers at in his E8 voting?  Remember this year Bomberland gets to see Juvans buddy from high school at WR.  Last year he was 2nd string.  Not to mention that 6-4 Bball player out there on the flank.  Plus the Tight Ends that Ithaca always produce. Oh, Oh, OH, and the three headed monster returns stronger, faster, and wiser than ever!!!!!

Fisher however, is the former co-champion and almost beat the Almighty Mount Union.  If these rumors of a D1 left handed quarterback are true....yikes that could put a huge ace in their hole.  Their Defense last year was....eh.  bombers would have had 30 points in the first half if some plays went our way.  Also, Springfield put up 55 on them in the Cardinals Nest.  They have brockport home this year, so, that game should be no real worry.  Plus, AU is home for them.  So it comes down to the Springfield game and the Ithaca game.  The bombers are undefeated against SJF and with this game turning out to be Cortaca Jugs little brother the Cardinals could be in store for somthing they aren't used to...  Cheering without cow bells.

Springfield is the former co-champion.  so, i see why they are #2.  With Sharpe returning and having a year under his belt man they could be really really unstoppable.  no other team in the E8 had a kid on ESPN.  what'd that kid have last year for total passing yards?  69? (it was actually 476, Felicetti had that in one game)... anyways, if they decide to use that Jackson kid man they could be good.

AU...boy that purple and gold is tough....

Dubbz E8 predictions:

1) Ithaca (8-2, a loss to Springs and one to Fish/AU)
2) Springfield (8-2, a loss to Alfred and one to Fish/IC)
3) Fisher (8-2, a loss to Ithaca and one to AU/Springs)
4) AU (8-2, a loss to Ithaca and Fisher)
5) 6) 7) 8) those other teams in the E8  :). what was it Norticawich...

oh boy dubbz--now who's drinkin the coolaid?
i agree that the Fisher IC game has grown into a rivalry game --but somthing that Fisher hasnt seen?
How so?

realistic

I think I agree with parts of just about everyone's posts on the Preseason poll.

heres the thing... Do I think IC will finish 4th in the E8 at the end of the season?  No.  Do I think they deserve to be 4th in a preseason poll?  Yes.

SJF is defending champ with the run through the NCAAs and has enough coming back to not have any argument that they aren't the Preseason #1.  SC had the most productive offense and the offensive POY returning, same deal...no argument for not #2.  AU has a great QB returning and other good offensive weapons.  IC has an unproven QB but won some big games last year and lost some.

Bottom line, that is the way is stands now and IC has to prove they belong higher than 4.

Personally I see the league ending up with IC, SJF, AU, SC....the rest.  Either way, we don't have to wait too long.  7 Saterdays 'til the showdown at Butterfield.

Yes.  MIOH will be checking for them at the tailgate.

He will donate all confiscated cowbells to local farmers.

You better check w/ the Guru (or the faq) before making any bold claims...

Caz gets this morning's gold star.  IC's last loss at Butterfield to a NY Private College was in 1983 and the loss did come to St. Lawrence.

Can't find any more qualifiers to put on that statement? Losses at home to private schools in the state of New York ... even MLB doesn't break down stats like that. :)

MIOH has done the research for you... it's a slow day here at the hippie school... classes ended last week...

This is from the 2006 NCAA Football Rulebook:

8. Nonpermissible Items. The host tournament manager and facility management are responsible for enforcing
the NCAA's policies regarding the following nonpermissible items. Patrons will be encouraged to return
nonpermissible items to their automobiles. An area will be established for the checking and securing of such
articles at the patron's expense.

a. Noisemakers. Artificial noisemakers, air horns, electronic instruments, cannons, etc., are not permissible.
Game managers are responsible for removing these instruments from the stadium.

MIOH thinks that cowbells fall under the etc. clause of that rule

I believe you are actually quoting the championships handbook, which applies solely to playoff games.
