As Mr. Milledge said on the SNY Broadcast the first game he was pulled up to the big club, "He gonna be alright"  Omar seems determined to shape him into the center fielder of the future once Beltran's oblique gives out for good in a year or two.

Steve Phillips is an idiot & a jerkstore.  MIOH loves his prediction for the Mets to finish 3rd in the NL East this year... even better is his reasoning... Pitching.  The Mets have given up the fewest amount of runs in all of baseball this year.

MIOH's Thoughts on Fenway:

MIOH went into the night with one goal... to see Manny do something "Manny"  That was accomplished by the 3rd inning. 

It was fun watching Gagne get booed on his way into the game... throw 3 balls to start the night... and then strike out the side to a chorus of cheers.

Tickets are insane.  Standing room and Bleachers were both in the range of $75-100... for the D-rays! (and Lester's Return?).

The sausage on the outside of Fenway is $7 and inside the park is $6. 

Scott Kazmir is Good.

As annoying as it seems... MIOH likes the old scoreboard... It's funny watching the guy run out there and try to get the National League Scores updated before the first pitch.  Whats even better is trying to predict which will happen first... Manny exiting the Monster... or the Scoreboard guy making it back inside.

Well boys Dubbz went 3 for 4 last night with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored in his softball league.  Benchwarmers, Dubbz team, scored 9 runs in the first then went on to score 1 run over the next 5.  The other team, Maxies Rajun Cajuns, decided to score 13 in 6 innings.   In the bottom of the sixth Benchwarmers scored 4 runs to tie it.  Held Maxies scoreless in the 6th and 7th then went into extra innings.  We scored 1 and made them go 1,2,3 to win the first round play off game!  WOOOO Dubbz is pumped.  this is the first time this team has ever won in the first round and not had to go straight to the losers bracket on Super Saterday!  Now we play the #1 team in the league who travels across country to play softball and is sponsored by Louisville Slugger.

Gulp.

Also, for those of us not traveling to Williamsport (because they have other commitments like running the Almni Run) for game 1, is there any interest in havin a Bomber gathering at Benchwarmers of Uncle Joe's for the game?  or is NSRB the only one not going?

I only know of them practicign at 6am-8am.  unfortunetaly dubbz has to prepare adn travel to work at that time.  any ideas when the afternoon practices are?

Lady Dubbz comes home every night with updates like.." I saw the guys in helmets today" & "All the fields have posts in them now", and "I think some of them ride in a truck cus there was a truck on the field today"........  So, there is Lady Dubbz report, more to come in the future.

The paper this morning reported that our kickers this year will all be freshman cus the soccer goalie went back to soccer.

FYI:  Mike Lindberg just informed me that the football jerseys will go on sale this year on 9/8 vs Kings and 9/22 vs Fisher. 

NSRB is still bumbed that his white #7 jersey was stolen from the FDC bleacher section the day he bought it.  Guess I gotta buy another one.

Well the new kicker, Dillon Dwyer,  From Garden City High school in NAssau County, apparently is a top Lacrosse player.  Scored 36 goals his senior season with 45 points on the year.

Also, he aint too bad of a kicker either. according to newsday he is one of the top high school kickers in NY.  With some research I found....
He is currently 4th in most field goals in a season.
He is also 5th all time with 70 points in PAT's alone.
He had 45 alone in 05 and holds the all time PAT record with 9 in one game. 
Total, he has 97 kicking points in his career, 3rd all time in NY.

Looks like the cheerleaders better start practicing their Herkes.
