Yeah, Freshman Joe was great.  We'll have to get in touch with him so he realizes the importance of his role!

Ran the names of our NY Freshman through the sportwriters page.  Some encourage stuff.  Compared to just one New York recruit who made the All-State list last year (as a third teamer) we have a handfull this year.

NY All-State Bombers

David Ahonen First team Class A Safety Victor
Also played QB.  Finger Lakes Player of the Year. Nice!

Matt Crandall First Team Class D  Running Back Cattaraugus

Played Junior Year with a broken ankle.

Chris Meatty Second Team Class B OL Windsor

Dan Ruffrage First Team Class D Safety Utica Notre Dame

Made the All-Star as a safety, but is listd with the Bombers as a WR.

Feel free to do some research on these guys, boys.  I need to go run some errands.  Crandall could be a complete beast.

they were always pretty cool about missing as long as you were responsible about it and let them know way in advance...and plus football players should really not miss classes because they play saturdays...

Football players miss alot of friday classes though.  Atleast I know I did when I played at Fisher.  We left Friday mornings very early for almost every away game especially Norwich, Springfield, Kings College, etc.

Most professors are very understanding at Fisher.  I never had any problems with excused absences.  Like Superman said, just let them know in advance.

Fisher still has that day its just called St Patty's day. I know a few teachers that gave more credit to students who show up on Pattys day.

What's everyone's take on  the E8 senior(s) this year who have a shot at going to the next level? Every year there's some hype about it (B. Brady from Alfred, Fehrenbach from SJF) and I'd like to see who's sayin what

Fortune from SJF could play some type of professional football.  He is an absolute beast (6'3 310 LBS) and has good footwork.

Fortune, from what i was told, spent alot of time out west training at a specialty training complex to get ready for this season...

ouch............
but what good song doesnt have cow bell.................

There are different kinds of cowbells. The small cowbells used by Fisher fans are higher in tone and are deemed annoying. When they say a song needs "More Cowbell," they are talking about the larger, lower tone bell that Will Ferrell plays so exquisitely. AU Pep Band occasionally uses a cowbell as percussion in accompanying some songs...

mornin fellas...just got done reading the front page - where are all of our IC guys with the Season Kickoff?  it's only $8.  Lets get up there with MUC and SJU.  There should be enough SJFC guys on here too.

Its at 14 for SJU and 18 for MUC.

AUPepBand with a report from Mayberry: Alfred University has about 160 young men in pre-season camp, which began yesterday. There are 60 new recruits and about 100 returning players getting ready for the Saxons' 2007 opener Sept. 8 in Greenville, PA against the Thiel Tomcats.

Pep made a quick stop in Greenville (en route back from a couple days at Cedar Point) to scout out Thiel's new Alumni Stadium, which, Pep is happy to report, has designated seating for the visitors...in the home side stands. There are no seats available behind the visitors' bench as every available inch is already occupied by diehard Thiel fans that long since have passed away. (A cemetery is next to the field.)

Go Saxons!

Well the new kicker, Dillon Dwyer,  From Garden City High school in NAssau County, apparently is a top Lacrosse player.  Scored 36 goals his senior season with 45 points on the year.

Also, he aint too bad of a kicker either. according to newsday he is one of the top high school kickers in NY.  With some research I found....
He is currently 4th in most field goals in a season.
He is also 5th all time with 70 points in PAT's alone.
He had 45 alone in 05 and holds the all time PAT record with 9 in one game.
Total, he has 97 kicking points in his career, 3rd all time in NY.

Looks like the cheerleaders better start practicing their Herkes.

There yah go TEcmo.... I wasnt sure how many pages back you went when you returned.  Let me know if you wanna do a practice next week.....  Tomorrow is "Super Softball Saterday" if you are interested in coming down for a bbq and 15 games of softball.

not so rowdy bomber

Mornin' fellas, N. S. Rowdy B punchin' in-

Lets be honest Pep... cowbells can help certain songs along but must be played in concert with the rest of the instruments.  If beat repeatedly much like they do in XC races and at Fisher games as a loud obnoxious and somewhat painful and slightly distracting enhancing tool it just not called for... those applications give the cowbell a bad rapp.

thats great news about our recruits.  Playing on a broken ankle... yikes!  the guy sounds like a rabbid animal... I kinda like it.  Nice to hear we got some OL guys too.  Juvan needs all the time he can get to get those perfect passes off to the corners.  Ooooh I cant WAIT to see some long bombs into the endzone!  .. gives me chills just thinkin about it!  EHHHH BOMbers!

realistic

agreed on the cowbells.  It always makes me think of the Winter Olympics.  Don/'t they bang them like crazy for the luge and bobsled?  Only time they were good is when Will was playing it and thats only one song.
