Hey there Bomber-

I believe Raymond accepted a government position with the CIA/FBI after working for the last year towards that goal.

Raymond got into the US Secret Service.  There was an article/link posted in the spring (I think) about it.  The article sounded like Welch knew this was coming because it was a long application process.

Which seemed to make light of way Pendergast, a former head coach at Cornell, would be willing to act as the D-Backs coach at IC.  Too bad he fled for some football camp.

Anyone here have an update on Mike Foster from U of R

in regards to what?

Thanks for the info on Raymond - secret service...thats kinda outta left field.  Too bad for IC by Rossman will fill the shoes.  Can't wait for the season to get underway...hope I can make a few games this year!

yeah - it seemed out of left field at first but I think Delaney wrote an article about it and I guess it was something he always wanted to do and had been pursuing it for some time.

Wow,  you boys have been busy while I was away from my desk.

Sorry for the absence on the busiest IC posting day of the year.

1) Really glad to see a FDC website.

2) Really glad to hear of FDC recruitment efforts.

3) I think Juvan is our guy.  I posted all this a ways back but, everything we are saying about Grastorf is stuff we were saying about Juvan two years ago.  Let's see what the kid does with a year under his belt.  If he is jittery, then its time to go another way.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I don't have such a good record on these things.  My senior year I was defending Ryan Steenburg as the starter when the student media was trying to drum up a QB controversy in camp.  Looks like I backed the wrong horse there.)

You're not alone Jose... I was a big Steenberg guy too as he was one of my orientation kids.

Guy could throw a bullet with a football, and looked great in his debut at Alfred.  After that though, things got rough, as he had a major case of the happy feet in the pocket.

Everything out of camp had people incredibly impressed with Felicetti.  Welch's quick hook of Ryan in the Hartwick game ended up being one of the best decision I've seen from him.

Tecmo,

I agree with everything you posted except this.

Quote from: tecmobowler on August 17, 2007, 04:37:27 PMand looked great in his debut at Alfred.

He got sacked like 6 times by a less than stellar Alfred defense.  For some reason, he just wouldn't let the ball go.

Turned into a pretty decent LBer though.  We'll just remember him as the Dan Kendra of IC, without, you know, the blindness and weight lifting records.

not so rowdy bomber

from what I remember from Freshman year... (which is not much) Steenberg had alot of opportunities and many almost big plays every game, and almost every drive. I liked watching the games because he had vision and was a creative play maker.. or almost play maker.  Just got frustrating after awhile... JF was a great switch.  Glad to see Steenberg did pretty well on the field too when not behind the center.

Wow didnt remember all the sacks.  Just remembered he was something like 24-28 with 300 yards in a steady rain..

And I'm with you on Juvan, Jose.  The kid was something like 42-2 in high school with a couple of state championships.  He was recruited by some I-AA schools, has a huge arm, and good speed.

Certainly there were some concerns last year, particularly with the fact he'd lock in to one WR and force... especially in pressure situations. This nasty habit actually reminded of of Steenberg a bit, and probably caused some to overreact. He collapsed in the Fisher game.  The Cortland game was a fiasco.

We always said we were spoiled with Felicetti, and took him for granted.  Hopefully DJ got through some growing pains last year, and is ready to dominate in '07.

nsrb...brunell was a great talent and an amazingly hard worker and leader, definitely left a void at center...however, nick guttuso is a solid player and will hold the position well...o line should be solid this year, even with the loss of brunell, rossi, and lets not forget brett monnatt

juvan will definitely come into his own this year...with a year under his belt running our system, and a year of maturity, he will be ready to lead the bombers this year...grastorf is another amazing talent buried at the backup spot, maybe an eventual move for him (very similar to Jeff Ohara in terms of athleticism)??? the kid can flat out make plays happen.

anybody been to camp to check it out? today was the first day of two a days

Good day for Tecmo. Zambrano signs a 5yr/$91m contract extension. Good thing Cubs management does not follow the Sabres business model of refusing to negotiate during the season. If they did, they would have lost him to the Mets or ended up paying $140m over 7 years.
