Cubs are dogs this evening. I like.

Sadly, I played them on the "don't pass line" yesterday with Z only on three days rest.  I feel so dirty.

Jose-

Give Jeff a call & tell him to sign Trotter. How sick would that be to have Brooks & Trotter in the middle?!?

Five years ago they would be the best LB corp in football.

Brooks has already lost a step and misses some tackles.  It is killing me and makes it sort of hard to watch.  Trotter is the same way.  I think we need to use our young speedy LBers to compensate for Brooks.

Nevertheless, given Gruden's history with old players, I think we sign Trotter.

I was waiting for him to make a real Cy Young run after signing his extension, but he hasn't looked all that impressive his last couple starts.  Looked okay in the 3 inning rain out (perfect game through that point), but threw a lot of pitches.  His getting pulled because of dehydration, cramps, or whatever it was concerns me a little.  Still, I'd love to have him pitching at Shea 2.0.

My fantasy line so far tonight: 12/23, 7 runs, 6 home runs, 12 rbis, .522 avg, 2.00 ops.  Championship, here I come!

I thought he looked great that game they got dumped out.  Walking the pitcher, and later giving up a home run to him certainly was a bummer yesterday.

We'll be ok.  I like the Monroe pickup.  I've seen enough of Murton, Cedeno, Fox. and all the other right handed goofs on our bench.

Word is Korey Patterson's brother has seen some time in the outfield at Wrigley too.  Baby Burnitz?

Hello there, Mr. N! Long time no post....will you be at ButterField come Nov. 3?

Jose is alive and well. Suffice it to say he was flogged and dethroned by the guru. Pep, despite his stating he had no intentions of leading this dissonant band of posters, was voted in as the E8 Chairman...and has been of none effect to date. Thanks for the congrats, I guess  :-\

In the meantime, Pep is taking suggestions on how best to be impeached, gearing up to round up some freshmen instrumentalists to join our fine group, and preparing for our second annual AU Pep BAND CAMP.

As for Julio....he's back in Olean continuing his rehab and has decided to wait another year before re-entering Alfred's academic halls. He continues to make slow progress with an encouraging sign being some feeling in his feet.

Welcome back to the boards...and please pay the band another visit next time!

Watching the Bush League race on espn2 right now.  With Bristol's new banking, it's pretty cool watching them race two and three wide on a short track.  Tomorrow's race should be a lot of fun to watch, although we could see quite a few cautions.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but when did this place turn into a Cubs forum at night?  I don't mind the Cubs, it's just bizzare all the updates we get on them daily lol.

I keep thinking of that 10-0 prediction for Fisher and while it is possible and  I hope it does happen, I feel like Fisher could lose 2 in conference games just as easily as going 10-0.  Say hypothetically Fisher loses 2 really close games at Ithaca and at Springfield (or vs Alfred, just interchange 2 of the 3) but really strong showings against the other 8 opponents.  Do you think a committee would consider letting them in over a plethora of 1 loss teams fighting for a pool C bid (because there are a million of them each year) seeing how deep they went last year, do you think something like that even plays in their mind even if they wont admit it openly, or do you think they truly wipe the slates clean.

pg04

Ask Cortland how they fared trying to get into the playoffs with just ONE loss....

There would be absolutely no chance with two losses in my mind.  However, no games have been played and maybe there will be a plethora of two loss teams instead, or maybe Fisher just will go undefeated  :P

boobyhasgameyo

Yeah I remember all the one loss teams that deserved to get in last year, Fisher was said to be on the bubble at times.  I don't know the exact stats, I was just wondering if a 2 loss team getting into the playoffs is a common sight or not.

On another note, just checking out the schedule and I noticed King's College is being rather ambitious in their scheduling.  Taking on Fisher in week 1 and then traveling to Ithaca the very next week.  Their 3rd non conference team is Hampden Sydney in week 3 who had kind of a down year last year but have still had a 37-11 record since 2002.  I'm just saying that's a respectable way to start out the year....
