MIOH is glad to see the bickering and complaining has slowed down a bit.

Thanks for the Bomber updates Tecmo.  MIOH looks forward to hearing how some of these new young studs look.

Real - MIOH agrees, more meaningless chatter while MIOH pretends to work all day at the hippie school would be great.

FA05 – Nobody will replace Gordon.  He's been the best return man to wear the bomber blue since Ron Amato.  MIOH used to love how Amato would hold the ball with one hand about 3 feet away from his body as he returned kicks... yet he never fumbled.  MIOH thinks the likely candidate is Kyle Crandall.  He has returned kicks for the bombers the last couple of years.  Did Dubbz or Tecmo see who was returning kicks in the Cornell scrimmage?

Tags – MIOH was next to the "Goof Ball" who invited you to a fight.  He's actually a really good kid... MIOH thinks he had a few too many of the Bomber Shots that morning, getting ready for the big game.  In any case... Fans on the same side = Bad news.

Dubbz - Have you found a good Kennel yet?

WARNING:  BASEBALL CHATTER AHEAD... LOOK AWAY IF NOT INTERESTED
Cubs – Even if the cubs fall... they probably won't fall as far as the brewers and cards.  With Sori coming back in a few days MIOH thinks they are still the team to beat in the central.

Phils – They are Hot!  Jimmy Rollins could end up as the NL MVP if he continues to tear the cover off the ball... that would not make MIOH happy... esp. given his pre-season comments.

Mets - Just hangin on... Endy, Endy, Endy!

I go away to a deposition and you boys filled up the boards...nicely done.

Re: Fisher-IC, I think this is still the premier E8 rivalry.  SC is good again but they just don't feel like an E8 team.  Kind of like how Miami doesn't feel like a real ACC team.

Re: Fisher visiting stands.  Tags, hopefully you are right and a fight isn't required for action.  You'd think the Fisher Athletic Departmen would have learned their lesson after that Naz hoop game a few years ago.

Re: Fisher's Passing Attack.  This is actually an interesting topic.  Clearly Kramer is a talented QB and the WRs had some success last fall. The question I have surrounds Robinson's effect on the passing game.  After the career he had, everyone was game planning to stop Robinson.  Did that focus neccessarily open up more passing lanes for Kramer & Co.?  I really don't know the answer but it will be interesting to find out.

At the cornell scrimmage they do not do kickoffs or punt returns.  They do the entire formation, kick the ball, run down the field, only to have it be a MANDATORY fair catch.

I spoke with the Quarterbacks Coach for Cornell yesterday and he said "man when your big ole #89 came walking onto the field all of our coaches stopped and went 'ooooo.'"  That kid is a "dream reciever."  6'5" 215lbs with HANDS! Our conversation went for about 20 minutes and I learned a lot and it was interesting to hear what he saw.

Now... We have a dream reciever on our roster and we threw to him TWICE saterday!!!! those who got my pm know what happened the rest of the game that got me mad. last year he had a wopping 8 catches. but, with the welch system and our new West Coast offense I see him getting 6-9 balls thrown his way per game.

FDC mission for the year;  create Fish vs Bombs into greatest E8 rivalry.
(gonna be tough to beat Alfred and Fish)

Can someone talk a little more about the Alfred/SJF rivalry?

Not a whole lot of history there... perhaps a rivalry in dipers.

They've played 5x since 2002 w/ SJF taking 4 out of 5... MIOH would think AU would have to win a few more times before that one can be discussed at length.

They do seem to be the most "natural" rivals in the E8.

They are both in the same area and both recruit the same kids.  I would guess that a vast majority of both rosters have played against or with each other in high school or youth football.  (Paul Keeley being a good example).

Other than that, I don't think there is much of a rivalry there.

Yeah -- the lack of length in varsity football for St. John Fisher (20 years) is what struck me also.

It's all good MIOH. I understand things like that happen at big games.

Wait...Fisher has been playing varsity football for 20 years?  I had no idea.  I thought they just added the program my sophomore year at IC.  Maybe that is the year they moved to D3?

They've been around a while and just want a little respect.

Ithaca =

Consistent, year after year they show up and produce.

so quick question to those bomber faithful that were real faithful in the mid 90's... is Fisher the new Hobart.  What I meen is in the 90's i seem to recall Hobart being a pretty good rivalry.  The coaches hated each other.  The players were all recruited to both schools and then hated each other for not choosing their school.  That was pretty cool.  I remember watching the last of the Hobart series at Bomberland and it was scary to watch on the field.   It reminded me of a Cortland game without 8700 drunk students on the sidelines.

dubz - I think the Hobart / SJF comparison is pretty good.  Private schools, regionally close, expensive, similar admission standards (regardless of what Hobart thinks), etc.  I think the IC/SJF rivalry has more potential (beyond the obvious competitive last few years) because the two teams play together in every sport that the two schools share which adds name recognition and is something that IC/'Bart didn't have.

I think it is close to 10-15 years at this point.  FA91 played club football, right?  If he graduated in '91 then it could be 15 years at the most.  I could be wrong on those things though.  Either way, it is amazing the success SJF has had in a short period of time.

Sorry, I was ballparking it -- this is the 17th year.

I think NJCU/JCSC may have been among SJF's first victories.  I know they played each other a few times in the early to mid 90's.

I still would have been surprised if you hadn't ballparked it.  Those three years weren't the shock.  For some reason or other I have had it in my head that they were coming up on 9 or 10 years not 17 or 20.

I would say that the big Rivalry is Ithaca-Fisher.. alfred is a nice game but not a rivalry yet.... Ithaca is a rivalry  in all sports.... as far as the seating goes away fans should have their own section and not be intertwined and if they are mixed in they should realize that they are guests and should respect the home fans

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
