OK, I am just a naive fan who goes to many games and regularly watches these posts (and comments once in a while)...but what does FDC stand for?

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Who, among SJF fans, is kind of worried about all the press and honors bestowed this team already?
good question although I have been more worried about a general group of players (namely the whole team) that has never experienced losing and possibly they 'dont know where they came from' syndrom could set in...maybe not, maybe just overanalyzing.

Not me.  All the press and honors are good for Fisher.  The players know they still have to go out and play.

This sounds right to me.  Being new to winning generally effects fans and hangers on, not players.  The players are still college kids.  We all heard the fans when we were young, some of us regretably responded.  I can sympathize...trust me.

I think they might still have a sour taste in their mouths from MUC... man I would if I got that close to going to the national championship

Good for the program, yes.  But is it good for the players?

Whoops...didn't realize this topic was being re-hashed as I typed it, now it looks like I was just jumping on the bandwagon.

No, actually your comment made a lot of sense, unlike FA05's.

Since the FDC was louder than the home crowd that day, and since the IC players were a football field away, I highly doubt that our guys were doing the same thing. And Upstate already said this, '02 is "only recently" in my book; but perhaps what is more important was that Fisher has only recently come into beating IC, as in that was their second time. Or first time, if you're also the kind of person that thinks Bush was only "re-"elected. (that was kind of dense, sorry).

Booby, good point though. i'm sure that reflects the class-less-ness of a couple bad apples, not the whole program. Super, the same goes for bald-goatee and the FDC.

How do my comments not make any sense.  I simply stated that the IC players on the field taunt the fans just the same as the Fisher players do.  Not a big deal it happens.  Players from all teams do it and the fans have to deal with it.  Then I said that Fisher has a better overall record over the past 5 seasons.  For a relatively new program that is a pretty good accomplishment.

I would say so.  Any player would want to be recognized for his accomplishments I would think.  Plus it builds confidence.

yes it's fine to cheer and do what you want if you are in a visitor section...but if your sitting in the home section and you are cheering loudly be prepared to eat crow if your team loses... and take what ever is given back to you
And stop putting all your money into cowbells and buy some bleachers

Pep wants to see the game so when the Saxons are playing at Growney, he sits in the home stands at the end away from the scoreboard...and the band plays from there. Pep will admit that in 2005 there were a few AU fans that had a few too many Saxon Shots; Pep and the band were quick to quiet any unsportsmanlike behavior by Saxon fans in the home stands around the band.

There was a day at Merrill Field when BOTH TEAMS sat on one side...in front of the "civil" townspeople, the press box, and a section reserved for visitors at midfield. The other side had bleachers from goal line to goal line along the sideline that were packed with rowdy students right along the sidelines. It worked well in creating what visitors called a "pit." Today, visitors at Merrill Field, with the exception of an obstructing light post or two, enjoy a good view of the field from their bleachers up on the hill behind their team bench.

If the bleachers are the same on Nov. 10 as they were in 2005, Pep will once again be in the home bleachers at Growney....and if the Alfred following is as strong as it was in '05, the only seats available for the band may be in the home stands.

Lineback likes when you refer to yourself and the actual AU Pep Band in the same sentence.  Good job of keeping things coherent while avoiding referring to yourself in the first person at all costs.

                                                          something
Pep aims to please and occasionally hits the target ...
Pep had occasion to address the new students in attendance at the AU Performing Arts Division Open House last night. After standing in wait as others made their presentations, Pep got the idea that these young people, seated in stadium-style seating in the CD Smith Theatre, were getting a little antsy, if not bored. Pep, after disassociating himself from the AU Performing Arts faculty so as to spare them any embarassment, told the assembled students that they looked like they needed to stretch. He then directed them to put together a wave, which the group did quite nicely from one end of the seats to the other and then back. He followed that with the "Give me an A" cheer in which they all enthusiastically participated. Pep told them about Saturday's BAND CAMP and made a quick exit, en route receiving a high-five from the Performing Arts Division secretary....it's how Pep rolls.

+K to the day's posters....just because
