I knew a kid that was Deb's pitching coach his senior year at IC and loved the experience.  She and I never really got along when I was there but if she likes you, I would reccomend you do it JK.

Deb was my cpr teacher while I was at IC.  I had no problems with her at all. 

It's a pretty similar game to baseball.  I mean, there's no leading (so no yelling "back!" as the 1st base coach), and you don't go 9 innings, but you don't have to worry about a pitch count, which is a joy.  If you've got a pretty good idea about baseball, which I'm guessing you do since they offered you the job, I say go for it.  I'm working with kids that when I say tag the bag, literally go over and touch the base with the ball.  I'll be back for the Fisher game, so we can discuss it more in a few weeks if you want, or email/pm me, but it can't hurt, right?
