Pep is happy he didn't need to step in, as the susceptible-to-impeachment yet reluctant E8PP Chairman, and declare a "time-out" for a rambunctious E8 poster.

WOW.  I posted once on the LL board and got ripped pretty badly.  They obviously don't like us E8 guys!!!

I wouldn't say that - I just think you can't make a blanket statement like saying Alfred would win the LL and not have any rational behind it.

Although I'm not sure of the true strength of the LL, Alfred (Pep look away) has never really done anything to merit that kind of statement. Plus you need to be mindful of where you're posting that.

Midnight Baseball Post That May Or May Not Make Any Sense Whatsoever:

My general disdain for the 3-ring Circus of Suck that is the Cubs/BrewCrew/Cards division race is slowly turning into enjoyment of the only 3-way race going right now, unless you count the Dodgers desperately trying to hang with the DBacks and Padres or the AL Wildcard deal, which barring a big run by the Tigers seems to be an inevitable Yankees clincher as the Mariners slowly sink beneath the waves of Pythagorean W-L Record.

I mean, sure, any AL team outside the Tampa Bay area or South Chicago would be more than competitive in any NL division, but a pennant race is a pennant race is a pennant race, I guess.

The movie of September 2007 should be called Doctor StrangeCub, or How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the NL Central.

Does anybody know if the reason why Mr. Samrov finishes his around the region articles later than most is due to deadlines at his current job that prevents him?  Basically will this be a regular occurance?  Just want to know so I know what to expect throughout the season and so I won't have to compulsively check every hour or so....

In his column he says he may start posting an East Region top 10 next week after all the teams.  I will be looking for consistency between what he sends me for the fan poll and his poll in the column  :D ( I know the set of teams is slightly different).

I simply stated that Alfred would win the LL to defend Alfred's program.  I posted my opinions on the Upstate Rankings and I had Fisher, Ithaca, and Alfred as the top three teams.  Just my opinion.

But you are right.  I should have seen that reaction coming especially on the LL board.

Honestly though I do think Alfred would win the LL especially this season.  They have a very strong team returning with some very good position players.  Union and Hobart lost ALOT, and RPI is solid on paper but I'm not so sure they would beat AU.

Does anybody know anything about Buffalo State?  I saw they beat up on Morrisville pretty bad.  30-0 at halftime.  They have Lopez, a good RB who played at Brockport a couple years back.  But thats all I know.  Any information would be good.

In other news, you all will be happy to know booby had a dream about Fisher playing Ithaca last night.

Don't you mean a nightmare?

JU-

I (and one other poster who shall remain name and title-less) was on Marty's Model UN team... one year the hotel f'ed up and didn't put all the students on the same floor. He proceded to throw a conniption at the hotel reception guy, and as the students kind of crowded around, trying to get him to calm down, telling him it was okay, he famously pounded his fists on the desk yelling "I will NOT be patronized by my students!!!"

I hate to have all these negative stories about the guy though. He is truly dedicated to teaching and his students; I actually worry about him retiring, that's how invested he is in his career. One of the best professor-friends I made at IC, if not the best. Funny as hell when he wanted to be, too. And a huge Yankee fan.

Yea he was great and went above and beyond.  I hated writing 3 papers in a class though for a grade.  I liked Tom Shevory's style a lot better.

MIOH is tired of defending the NL, but would like to point out that he believes the above quote to be incorrect.

Dubbz - Any chance you'll be closed before Cortaca?

If the AL team in the Tampa Bay area is so bad, how come your Yankees can't seem to beat them?

You mean, read a couple short books, talk a lot in class and write one paper?  Yeah, I loved politics classes at IC.  Basically if you are loud (and at least somewhat knowledgeable) you can do well.  Not knocking any of the profs either here...Shevory is another great guy.

Marty even let you re-write your papers.  For those of us who decided to procrastinate and hand in a pile of late night scribble deamed knowledgable and meaningful, there was the kindness that was Marty's 2nd Chance.  Lets not forget the Marty Parties... those were about as big as a Freshmen Disorientation gatherings on the end of Penn/ Kendal.
