Perhaps that fancy Ithacan article will help recruiting for the FDC!

Can we get signs up around campus?

ok how can this kid not get his arsc kicked for writing this article?

This part alone is enough to hang him from the Bomber Clock.

"Q: With one full season of starting experience under his belt, can junior quarterback Dan Juvan take the leap to Empire 8 stardom?

A: As a sophomore last season, Juvan had the enormous shoes of Josh Felicetti '06 to fill. The first-year player performed adequately, starting all 10 games in 2006, throwing for 1,852 yards, 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Juvan, a solid all-around athlete, is also a threat to scramble with the ball. Still, Juvan struggled to make all the throws and execute Ithaca's game plan on a consistent basis. If Ithaca wants to return to the elite of the nation and make a playoff run, the Bombers will need more consistency from their second-year starting signal caller."

What is "Carmelo's Plan" and what are they doing to/with Manley Field House?

Carmelo donated a ton of money to create the "Carmelo Anthony Basketball Center".  Don't know how much more $$ they need or when it is being built but I believe it is going to be near manley... thought with all of the new fields, etc there I don't know excactly where they are going to put it.  I don't know what they are doing with Manley as it is right now.

The local players that do stay aren't making much of an impact. Remember the big deal when CBA's Bruce Williams and Lavar Lobdell decided to go to Syracuse instead of going to school out of state?

What have they done at SU? Nothing. Williams just doesn't have the size to be an impact receiver at the Division I level and Lobdell has nowhere near performed up to expectations.

Remember, Rice had committed to Syracuse. He played in the Dome in a couple of state title games as the tailback for New Rochelle. Then, he bolted when SU fired Coach P.

uugghh...don't remind me.  Though to be fair to Williams and Lobdell, they haven't really had anyone that could get them the ball.  They were good in high school but it sure helped to have Greg Paulus throwing to them.

I like that the current students have the impression that the FDC has been around forever.  This is a good thing.

absolutely.  This is huge.  Student turnout (except for the hats n friends pre-FDC) was non-existent in my years at IC...and they had some good teams.  Nice work with the FDC.

Looking at Delaney's story and Kickoff, it looks like King's one strength in their O-Line where they returned four senior starters.  It will be interesting to see of Drescher, Byers and Co. have another good game or they were just feasting on a bad Lyco O-Line.

What was wrong with it? Too fair and even-handed an assessment? Not rah-rah enough?

Not to choose a weird alliance here Dubbz, but I have to agree.  It sounds just about right to me too.

At least he is off on the right foot and looking like the QB we thought he was going to be when we all discovered him in a Tecmo pre-season report two years ago.

realistic

yeah...it sounds pretty spot on.  It's tough for the sports journalists/reporters at IC.  Anything can be preceived as slights, especially by the football team.  I think he was pretty fair.

True that.  It's tough to write borderline negative stuff about guys you bump into @ eggy or the 2nd floor bar... but that quote seems directly on target to MIOH.

MIOH was surprised last year when someone from WICB predicted the Bombers would lose to Springfield at home... it was the 1st non-bomber prediction MIOH had ever heard.

MIOH thinks the WICB guys generally get a free pass for being homers though.

FDC Update.

NSRB has contacted MIYH to make him admin to msg FDC crew.  NSRB has also contacted the Admin of the Class of '11 with info for Saterday and hope they pass the msg on to the 1,769 members of the freshman class to show up at Butterfield at 1pm.

realistic

you can be somewhat of a homer...obviously you'll have more info, stories, etc about IC.  Really as long as you're not dropping "we" and "us" everywhere, they're doing OK.  Its tough to do though, you really have to watch yourself.

theicdubbz

true.  I wonder if this kid really thinks that there is a controversy or if he read D3football.com Post Patterns and decided to jump on the lead?

Obviously he didnt see the Kings game statistics before writing that article.  I would have changed that paragraph around a bit after Juvons performance. the QB job is his after that.
