true.  I wonder if this kid really thinks that there is a controversy or if he read D3football.com Post Patterns and decided to jump on the lead?

Obviously he didnt see the Kings game statistics before writing that article.  I would have changed that paragraph around a bit after Juvons performance. the QB job is his after that.

Given that the Article is Dated Aug. 30th... my guess is that it hit print before the Sept. 1st contest against Lyco... That being said, MIOH doesnt think 4  quarters of good ball would have changed the writers opinion that much.

Was anybody at the IC game this weekend? Any impressions, or anything else you can get out of the IC win?

MIOH's Week 1 Bomber's Summary:

3.   Great to hear #19 Billy Struzzi back out there and making plays.  Struzzi led the Bombers in tackles his first game back... MIOH imagines it won't be long before the Ithaca Journal or the Ithacan (or maybe even PC) do a warm-fuzzy story on his comeback.

Looks like someone reads MIOH's Posts... Feel Good Struzzi Article from the Ithacan

they should be reading us.... we're a vast knowledge of IC and D3 here.  They could get a seasons worth of articles out of us.  If someone does an editorial on E8 v LLPP banter...then we know we've hit a new high.

MIOH's Favorite quote from the article:

Chemo...

"It was like waking up with a terrible hangover every day for about three months"

- Billy Struzzi #19

Go Bombers!

If more people read us, imagine how much better in-game atmosphere would be; can you imagine the ENTIRE ITHACA SIDE chanting "RY-AN FUL-LEN!" at Cortaca? That could be a difference maker. And don't get me STARTED on Alfred games, Mr. Gatto...

Tough being a student reporter sometimes. I had the audacity as a senior to suggest that our football team was going to struggle (graduated stars off a 4-6 team) and the coach called me to ream me out.

The team went 1-9, with its only win against Gallaudet, and the coach was fired at the end of the season. Guess what was front page news?

That same season our volleyball team started off 11-0, with an eight-person team. The first week that volleyball led the sports section instead of football I was sitting behind football players in class on publication day and they were complaining they weren't the top story.

(Thankfully I was relatively anonymous at the time, despite being the sports editor and the football PBP guy for the radio.)

Probably too much information. :)

I wrote a letter to the editor about one of our broadcasters that got me some threats from both the athletic and journalistic world at IC. I hope that letter is still pinned up in the Sports Info office.... along with the program from my sophomore year jazz band concert.... along with Jose's list of funny things we could get the new baseball scoreboard to say.

That article should have been written sooner.  Bill is a good kid and I am glad to see him back out there.

I like that the current students have the impression that the FDC has been around forever.  This is a good thing.

you were lucky to be on the radio then.  As the TV PBP and Sports Anchor, people could recognize me.  Nothin like having the O-line upset about comment made on air...regardless of how true they were.

You would think the Football team would want to be anonymous ones if they only won one game

Come on Pat, they played football at Catholic, they probably didn't even think they would win the one game they did end up winning.
