despite the 71-7 win...  (see NJAC board)

"The bigger concern is that although Ray Miles has looked good (just like last season), his offensive line is really struggling.  Miles is getting chased as soon as he gets the snap from center.  No opportunity to set up in the pocket."

coaches, take note.

Morrisville St. Coll   0  7     0    0    7
SUNY Cortland       7  17  35  12    71

It would be exiting to see 4 E8 teams in the top 25 after week 3...

Go Bombers
Go Fish
Go Springfield

This is about as high as the Saxons get each year before losing a game and falling out of the "Also Receiving Votes" section of the rankings.  So, I'm scared of this Saterday and petrified of the following weekend.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

So, let me get this straight, Donovan is still at IC and they are not letting Bam block for him.  My confusion is compounded as I look for an extra year of eligibility somewhere on my record.....if they get a fifth, I want one too.  Just kidding.

realistic

I think the situation was that Bam didn't play last year b/c of injury and received a medical redshirt.  Obviously if lumpy is around, he could shed more light on this.

Thank you for the update.  Lumpy, shoot me a message and let me know whats up.  i miss your boy.

-any comments on the 71- 7 C'State game... I sure home the Bombers got their "monarch" butterflies out for the season... sounds like a tough road ahead.

Well.  It was 71 points vs Morrisville, a 2nd year program.  I wouldn't take too much away from the score.  I would give c-state credit on withstanding 2 delays and a game that ended just before 1am and still put up the points.  But, cortland lost Alex Smith and someone else I think....  The QB loss will hurt come NJAC games.

I was at the C-state Mo'ville game and I was pretty impressed with Cortland in the 2nd half. The First half was not much to watch (I think the delays may have had something to do with that). But late in the 2nd quarter before the 2nd delay the game was tied at 7 and Mo'ville actually looked like they were going to take cortland to the wire. It took cortland a little less than a half to get a hold of what Mo'ville was doing, and get a hold of themselves, but then oh man did they roll from there.

I think Cortland will be a legitimate threat to win the NJAC this year, but they will have to avoid slow starts like they had last night.
GO FISHER!!!

I thought about giving you negative karma because of my hate for C-State but then I realized you made valid points.  That league is a quick strike league and if they start slow they will get beat.  If they have some fire power early then they can maybe keep up with IC

Trust me, I am not as much a fan of Cortland as I made it sound...I think IC and C-State are about even this year. Both teams are pretty good. I really think that Cortland will be really hurt by the loss of the starting QB, but then again I thought that last year when their 3rd string QB went down. I think the Cortaca game could be a huge game this year(as it is every year), But this year their could be a whole lot on the line. Like an at large bid for one or both of the teams.
Obviously this is a very early prediction but I will take Ithaca by a few in overtime.
GO FISHER!!!

yes that is a very early prediction lol

I know I missed the first week, but i dont have the internet at my new house yet, so the chumming shall commence today, while i should be finishing my lesson plans in preparation for the 25 kids i'm about to "teach".
That said, AU goes 10-0 this season.  Keeley is regarded as the best player in the E8, and i talk a lot of junk.  What?
Switching gears, maninyellowhat, i brought up the post patterns screen and just about pissed myself when i saw gatto juggling as your icon.  I had forgot about that.  I'm on tilt.
Cant wait till saterday.

Welcome back, Sarge! Pep knew the AU posters would start to appear once the season got underway. Got the Scarlet and Brown coming down from SargeLand this week...

Yeah, these Bomber boys (MIYH) will never forget Gatto, but then, Sarge, you've always had bladder control problems, right?

To NSRB, regarding "-Pep band decided to play funeral durges... maybe this was some new tactic...  didnt work.  AU Pep... we may need a guest conductor come Fisher game."    ....As Pep has posted many times, Pep couldn't direct himself out of a paper bag. IC may need someone from FDC to take over the pep band and get it out of the hands of the music department. AU's band, while sounding pretty good on Saterday, is less concerned about the music and more concerned about what's happening on the field and responding appropriately. Music profs/majors don't always know the difference. But, NSRB, Pep will be at Merrill Field Sept. 22 as AU goes after Mr. Sharpe.

While Pep understands the magnitude of the IC-Fisher clash, Pep believes the AU-SC skirmish is equally significant to the E8 picture.

I always love when the Saxons beat the crap outta Slu.  I have no bad feelings towards that school except that i still hope it burns to the ground with all those preps in pink popped collars.
Bladder? What bladder?!   HA!
You cease to amaze me Pep.

AU guys,

I was checking out this weeks matchups.  Alfred has St. Lawrence which Sarge just reminded us of.  I know last season it was a really close game right??  AU won 17-14 I think.

What do you guys think of the matchup this season?  St. Lawrence has been improving every season.  You think they have a shot at AU this year?  I really hope AU pulls it out, which I am sure they will.  I wanna see 4 ranked teams from the E8.
