PG - Don't take it personal... Caz will probably have to remove Brockport from the list after this season for using an ineligable player/actor (Keanu Reeves)

His name was john. He couldn't understand Brockport being ranked below Ithaca in our 2003 preseason poll.

Ithaca beat Brockport that year. Twice.

Don't remind me, I broadcasted both games.  The first game went down hill after the Darter made an obscene gesture and the second one was a strong defensive battle.  This after they had beaten Ithaca each time the previous 3 years.

Yes, now I remember John.  I think he actually ventured into the basketball boards, too.  I wonder why he didn't return last year!

Alfred - Turtle: Comic relief who never minded playing a supporting role to the stars of the show.  Just as Turtle usually makes a party better, AUPepBand with his stories is always welcome in any E8Nation discussion. Has recently shown an eye towards hitting the bigtime through vehicles like Jesse Raynor, Paul Keely and Saigon but it hasn't happened quite yet for Turtle/Alfred.  Any success on the horizon likely to be a one-off fluke.

Pep appreciates the shout out...Pep hasn't seen Entourage but a few of his Habitat 2007 tripsters became addicted to the show as their away messages often read "Entourage." As for Pep's stories, this one time at Band Camp...

cards 82---if that statement by Dr. Bain is true- that is great!
And if the Roch posse left because of a little light hearted fun- then someone needs a happy pill!
See you all at the courage bowl and i cant wait!!

PG, I think you are confusing years.  Darnley did the "suck it" gesture to the IC crowd at Butterfield in 2001.  On the next play AA LB Trent Dilfer (Mark McDonough) absolutely buried him on a late hit and he had to sit out a series trying to remember his middle name.  That was our only loss that year until Rowan ripped us in the Region Final.

Maybe he did the same thing again in 2003, I wasn't there.  I know we owned him in 2003.  I think Molisani picked off three of his passes in the two games.

Strangest play I've ever seen.  After the 15 yard penalty, Darnley changed the play to a qb draw at the line, and proceeded to get blown up, as Q pointed out.

Who calls a qb draw on 3rd and 17 from your own 3?  Think the FDC got in his head that day.  Too bad Brockport still won the game though.

Good Morning E8 Nation

All this talk of Brockport makes me wonder... where is Bob Darnley today?  MIOH used to love going to games just to boo him.

MIOH pictures him as a Mr. Woodcock type, the angry gym teacher who talks about his glory days "throwing darts" against Ithaca and leading Port to Glory.

The Ithacan has a quote that said Bam Bam is expected to start in the Fisher game.  I wonder if those are his hopes, the team's hopes or both.  Hope it works out!

Tecmo,

Time will tell, hes traveling this week so thats a good thing! Are you making it to the Hartwick game?

orangehat, when are we going to see you at a game?

Orangehat has been unsuccessful in his attempts to find a ride from Boston to Ithaca for Sept. 22nd.

Sadly his only trip to Butterfield may be Nov. 10th.

MIOH would make a special trip to Butterfield for any home NCAA playoff games

Anyone else agree with Samrov?

East Region Top 10 poll

1. Springfield
2. St. John Fisher
3. Wesley
4. Ithaca
5. RPI
6. Union
7. Hobart
8. Alfred
9. Rowan
10. Cortland State

It just caught me off guard since Fisher is ranked as one of the best in the country but he gave props to the profs.

No issues with the first 5 picks....

Union shouldnt be ranked....

Hobart should be a bit lower....

Rowan is just about right....

Alfred & Cortland should be higher....

Why shouldn't Union be ranked? It's not like they lost to a nothing team. In fact, it was to the number one team in the poll and a top 10 team nationally.
Hobart lost in OT to a very good Dickinson team, that's why I didn't drop them.
Alfred beat Thiel, a team that's not good right now and Cortland won big, but against Morrisville... no offense to Morrisville, but they need to beat someone better than that to move up higher.

Maybe a year or two ago, the city of Syracuse started a semi-pro football team which would play in the downtown War Memorial.  They only played a couple games before expenses and other problems caused the team to shut down.  Bob Darnley was on that team as a QB.

Also, he may play for the Syracuse Express.  A semi-pro team in Syracuse (a really good one).  But im not sure.

Since Mrs Upstate was given a 46% raise by the hospital she works at (in the lab), Mr. Upstate is getting a flat panel TV.  Any suggestions and/or warnings about flat panels?

Only thing I'd vary from Frank on is where to buy the cables.  Everyone and their mom will want you to buy monster cables.  Biggest waste of money ever.  I agree with him to not buy them in the store, but I'm a huge fan of this site: http://www.monoprice.com/home/

That's where I'd go to buy the cables.  They've got really reasonable prices on HDMI/DVI cables.  Otherwise, Frank's pretty spot-on with his suggestions.

I've used monoprice...good suggestion -- decent service, although shipping can take a little time.  Balance the pros and cons and see how fast you need the part when making the decision.

Not to be mean, but I would say that Frank adds a lot more knowledgeable content than most run of the mill posters..

that just sounded harsh what you said.

Thanks pg04...And may the karma gods smile upon you! :)

Pat,

Maybe somebody already asked this, but which game will be broadcast on D3Cast next weekend?  Please tell me its Fisher at Ithaca.

realistic

he's said multiple times that there isn't enough $$ for a game every week.  They may not be doing one.  That being said, you can still watch the ICTV webcast.
