just out of curiosity, should the team have been over at Shoekolph (sp) under the lights running plays saturday night?  They're D-III college kids, give 'em a break and let them have a few brews.

As for the 52-2 prediction.  I can only assume you are the one that was interviewed on air before the game making the prediction.  How exactly did the radio guys insult you if you said it on the air.  Also, isn't this less than a week after one of you guys asked the radio guys to interview you so they didn't interview some new fan who would spout off something stupid.

Maybe it's just me but predicting 52-2 (even in jest) on the radio is pretty dumb.  But then again, so is going on the air drunk.  But maybe thats just the broadcaster in me.

Well said, +k

I think its time to open up club semesters once again.  That should do it.

Yikes, who knew my (completely sober I might add) 51-2 prediction would be bantered on the boards today!

It was obviously in jest, and I was able to get it out before Yellow Hat was able to toss out his 69-1 prediction (a late game roogie for the Fish).

Since I was at the game, I didn't hear the radio guys comment on it, but I'm sure that wasn't a big deal.  Perhaps some of them are bitter at some of the reaction on here to their analysis (i.e ICB Color Guy "My favorite part about Juvan is that he always dives head first, rather than sliding"), but I'm sure we can all be friends again.

I think the radio guys, pep band, fans, FDC, alumni, you name it need to stick together in this time of Bomber peril.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

ok so my comment about Welch getting fired was just chatter...do I think he should be fired no...but Ithaca is used to winning...and it looks like they will end up 4th in the conference again

Saying a coach will be fired, even in quasi-jest, really lacks taste -- especially when they have had umpteen winning seasons.  I'm not Ithaca fan, but you're old enough to know better than to levy such a charge.  If you think SJF is so great, then Ithaca was the underdog in the first place in that game -- so your analysis holds no water.
Frank before you start to ASSume things why not go back and reread my original post...it had nothing to do with fisher and it was just putting a question out to ask if his  job could be in danger...I never said he should be fired...

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I was under the impression that they would have gotten an ECAC game but did not accept the invitation.  I guess that could be wrong.

As for Hartwick, Sometimes teams in the upper tier have a tendency to lose to lower tiered teams every once in a while.   Didn't Fisher lose to Norwich (in 2004) in an otherwise Undefeated Season for the Cardinal?  Maybe Hartwick is going to be that Norwich team.

Just some food for thought.

PG04, you are correct.  Ithaca declined the invitation to an ECAC Bowl Game last season.  They never accept ECAC bids for some reason.  NCAA's or nothing for them.  I think it's pretty stupid myself.  In my opinion, you take that extra game especially for the departing seniors.  Plus it gives you a chance to often play a team from another conference.

I was on the 2004 Fisher team that lost to Norwich, which was my senior season.  Although we should have won that game, I should point out, that Norwich had a fairly good team that season with a final regular season record of 7-3.  Though they lost to Alfred, Ithaca, and SC pretty handily.  Norwich had a good QB, RB, and two good WR's one of whom was Pierre Garcon from Mount Union, perhaps the best player in D3 right now.

We hosted an ECAC game in 2005. Not for nothing. Other sports also routinely participate in the ECAC's.

Just a little nit in terms of Ithaca doesn't technically "reject" invitations to the ECACs -- they just choose not to file by the deadline in early November when that scenario occurs.  Whether or not they would have actually been chosen isn't played out since they become a nullity in those circumstances.

maxpower,

I thought that in 2005 IC lost to Union in the playoffs and Union went on to be beaten by Rowan.   ???

That's correct.  However, I will say that Union beat Ithaca in the ECACs earlier this decade (2001?).

I think that happened earlier.  I know it wasn't 2001.  2001 IC went on the road to beat RPI and MSU before losing to Rowan.

IC's two most recent ECAC games were 1999 and 2004

Yep - my bad - was wondering why I couldn't find it on my old site.  We started in 2000.
