Who knows what happens if an SJF coordinator gets a chance at a head job somewhere?

They lost one to the UofR and all that happened was a trip to the NCAA semi's and a long awaited W at Ithaca.....

Actually Superman thought losing that OC to UofR was actually a victory...the guy couldn't call a game for his life the last two games of the year

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

There's no way that Welch's job is or should be in jeapordy, especially at this point.  Its way too early.  It's definately not outta the question for IC to go 8-2 the rest of the way, a very respectable season.  However, they could also go 6-4, but very doubtful.  My prediction, they lose one more.

Furthermore, maybe it is time that IC finally has to come down from that almighty hill that they have been atop for so long now, and come to the realization that there are teams out there that are not only closing the gap, but passing them.  I dare say that they have lost a lot of that luster that used to beat teams before stepping on the field and I think you have to give credit to Fisher for this.  They were the first team to consistently play them close and pull out wins in recent years.  The rest of the league is starting to stand up and take notice that IC is very beatable.  Maybe it isn't as much that IC is declining as it is that the rest of the league is getting better.

3 weeks are gonna make AU's season.  I just hope nothing stupid happens before those 3 weeks (see:Hartwick).

Paul Keeley- MVP     Aparrently he's pretty good.  He's gotta be a front runner right now, correct?  I know that Fisher has gotta have some athletes to put up against him, but you know i've gotta pull for my horse.

Well weve talked about Buff St. and Brockport, both programs had about 5-7 years of great football teams.

Except for maybe 1996-2004, Alfred has had one of the best football programs in the northeast.  They have always given Ithaca good games, even when IC was winning national championships.  Its no suprise that a good academic school like Alfred is doing well again.

Who knows what happens if an SJF coordinator gets a chance at a head job somewhere?

Booby is right.  Fisher lost offensive coordinator Mike Foster after the 2005 season.  Dave Parks took over in 2006 and obviously they were just as good or better.  Parks is still the offensive coordinator this season and they are again very good.  Jim Scachetti, the assistant head coach who came into the program with Vosburgh a long time ago, is the offensive line coach and is responsible for much of the offensive success Fisher has.  He will never leave trust me.

Defensive coordinator Blaise Faggiano has also been around for a while.  He is an Ithaca graduate and played on a national championship team there.  He is a life long resident of Rochester and will probably never leave either.  Unless maybe the Ithaca job opens up in the future  ;)

Fisher staff also includes Buddy Simms.  One of the oldest and most well known coaches in Division 3 football.  He was the head coach at Brockport for a few years.  Great coach to say the least.  About 50 years of coaching experience.  He will probably die before he stops coaching, and I know he will never leave either since he no longer wants the attention that a head coaching job brings.

I think the Fisher staff is so successful because they have a great mix of very experienced coaches along with young coaches that know the game.  Plus they hire within their own family.  Mike Fox, Curt Fitzpatrick, and Dave Blahowicz all played at Fisher and know the system very well.

Sorry to make that so long.

Just wanted Johnny Utah to know that the Fisher staff isn't going anywhere.  We will be very good for very long.

FA05 I agree and I disagree...obviously the older coaches are going no where but don't be surprised if within 5-10 years or so Blaise is a head coach some where or a dII assistant or something...he has a young family and if he is going to move within the next 4 or 5 years before the kid starts school is the time to do it.. as for Parks I hope he stays but you never know

You mean like when Fisher's offensive coordinator left for U of R last year and people thought the offense would fizzle? I think they've survived that blow...

thats just one year....

You may be right.  Blaise has a daughter now which might change things for him.  But atleast we will never lose Vosburgh, Scachetti, or Simms.

Parks was there last year, 2006, and this year.  He is obviously capable.  They have averaged about 40 points per game in his time as OC.   Plus, like I said, we have Scachetti who could be a head coach or offensive coordinator at alot of schools.  Just chooses not to be.

Losing Foster was the best thing for the Offense...I spoke with the D-coordinator after the 2004 play-off 4th quarter meltdown to Del-Val and it was no secret that Foster was the reason the offense was throwing on 3 and long with only seconds to play and Del-Val was out of time-outs.  And oh by the way...how is UR looking these days?   Maybe he could beg for his old job back at Canandaigua ???

Was just checking out the East Region Fan Poll board for the first time...someone please explain...when and where do 'we' vote?
