FA91--every fisher fan and any honest wick fan. This fan was real thankful when you guys originally lined up for the FG. I didn't think we could stop a short run, but the wick D came up with the big play when needed. Through out the second havf you guys were just jamming the runs down our throat, but the D either sucked it up or had great calls from the coaches just often enough, as evidenced by all the 4th downs that fischer had to convert.
I think at certain points we put 7 or 8 in the box to stop the run and the D coaches said here you go your going to have to throw it deep to beat us and through either arrogance or confidence from past success the fischer coaches thought they could get the yardage the same way they always did. Which makes the final play call all the more confusing, I do agree with not going for the FG your kicker missed the same kick earlier in the half.

Admirals-vt:
Welcome to the boards....will you be coming to Alfred this Saterday? If so, stop by the pep band and say hello. The band is civil....although this past Saturday in two quarters the four-piece AU Pep Band took out a 50-piece military marching band up at Norwich!

At least for the last 3 games it has been more than that.

1. A very young O-line and D (particularly linebackers) stepping up
2. Boltus making smart decisions.
3. Other receivers (Phalen & TE'e) making plays.
4. Crea has not had a huge game yet, as I'm sure he is shadowed and doubled.

As long as they follow that script there is no game they can't be in, but that can be said of any of the big 4.

admirals- point taken.
i think that im done thinking and talking about the last play--i will probably never understand it- but will live with it in time.
I said a few days ago---fisher got beaten.  its as simple as that.
time now to regroup brush it off, and hope to god that they can win out and regain some momentum hopefully into a playoff run!

Yea i realize Utica is a joke ... thats why i stated Wick struggles for some reason ...as in they always play terribly against them and shouldnt.
Wick Mindset?  Im stating a fact...

Crea had 215 yards of total offense and 1 TD vs. IC

Boluts and Crea combined for 624 yards* of total offense and 4 TDs against IC.

*I did not include Crea's 112 receiving yards in this figure as they would be included in Boltus' passing yards.  Including Crea's individual receiving effort they combined for 735 yards.

Nope, too long of a trip and other commitments. I'm definately going to miss seeing pep tangle with the bagpipes.
Just the thought of what that could sound like will keep me up nights.

Too long of a trip? Three hours? Heck, Pep drove back from Norwich Saterday night and made it in 7 hours...Mapquest time was 7 hours, 23 minutes, but Mapquest took a wrong turn.

The ride to Alfred is especially picturesque at present. Pep is hoping Hartwick will bring a boatload of fans...the more the merrier!

Thats what we call it... The Cage

fisheralum91

cage--that is definately it.
and many of the students sitting on the hills behind the bleachers.
one way in and out--that just emphasized the enclosed feeling.

How was the Crowd?

fisheralum91

honestly- i was impressed.
bleachers were at capacity and the spill over on the hill was respectable.  I think a buzz must have hit the campus as the game went on- as the crowd in the hills got bigger.
my only issue was that i couldnt get outta there fast enough---i was in no mood to be trifled with - and me in my full fisher regalia- had a bullseye on me as i tried to get the holy hell outta that cage!!!

Wicknation#2

whats up everybody around the E8 its great to see the support and congrats from all of  the fans and ppl from the rest of the E8.

But im not understanding how wick fans think our d struggles against  utica's offense
w/ utica i can assure u that there is no "wick mindset" as we beat them last year 35 to 17 after giving up a td in garbage time to our back ups.

For us it has been a journey where we felt like we were much better on defense in 2006 than we were in 2005
we had a lot of young guys playing in a brand new system(including myself).
our success has a lot to do w/ us buying into the coach and getting much needed experince from last year.  There is no more "wick mindset" we have a new confidence where the offense believes in the d and the d believes in the o.  so we believe we compete and win the games vs. the big 4.  I am a JR. and have been here for some of the bad times.
In 2005 we had a great offense that can put up points but a horrible d that couldn't stop anybody(we put up 40+plus points on fisher but gave up 70 at home)
In 2006 we made some strides on defense late in the year but were not good enough to carry the o in the games were we had turn overs and penalties. our only chance of winning was scoring a lot of points.

this year i think we have found a nice balance were we lean and trust each other.
