No disrepect meant to Utica .... but I said Hartwick struggles against Utica so whats your point?  Are you bragging about beating a Hartwick team twice in the last couple years that obviously wasnt very good?

Realistic... i retract my statement of being realistic.... no identity fraud here

BoSox do not suck and I am praying for a Red Sox yankees alcs

wasn't talking to you on this one BoSox... talking to Sarge.

In all seriousness, this fan of d3 is not the first to criticize the regulars of E8Nation by claiming they discourage new members.  I think this criticism is mislaid for two reasons.

1) The new members that get blasted out of the gate generally get blasted because they sign up just to make outrageous predictions and lob insults.

2) Regular posters are just as hard on other regular posters when they make the same kind of insane statements.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Prediction:  AU 41
                  'Wick 31

Did anyone believe the Wick player who posted something to the effect: "I just discovered these boards a couple weeks ago." ?

That is like Donald Trump saying he just discovered his savings account after he found a $1000.00 bill in his pants pocket...

Pep looks at regular posters' responses to first-timers as sort of a welcome mat. The regulars just ask that newbies wipe their feet before they come in.

Jose while I would usually agree with you on your first point, I have noticed that these posters from 'Wick have been for the most part well spoken, well informed fans who have not thrown stones.

So why have they been told to retire, bashed before they even posted, and been accused of leaving after they lose?  To my knowledge, They are atop the E8 standings (and AU).

The respect card is pulled way too often and I agree if it is pulled it should be stopped ASAP because  in fact, they have won only three games.  But two of those wins are bigger than probably any other team in the country for their respective team and while the "team of Hartwick" is not being bashed, the posters should not either.

I believe it.  Why would anyone from 'Wick give a crap about anything happening outside of Oneonta before the last two weeks.  Its not like other games ever had an effect of Wick's ability to make the postseason before they beat IC and SJF.

I am picturing WickNation sitting in his dorm room in Oneonta pouring over the homepage with a legal pad in hand making notes like:

"Mt. Union appears to be good."

"There are a lot of teams in Wisconsin."

"It's hard for me to believe that WNEC is not a consistent National Title contender."

Pep its childish.  For the most part, and I say for the most, people posting on here are not middle school aged children, nor are they high school freshman trying to get in on the "cool group".  Nobody owes anyone anything on here, nor should they.  This is not initiation and while the wounds of a fresh defeat hurt, we shouldn't discourage them from posting because we lost a game we shouldn't have.

really...or are you being sarcastic?  The kid has to know that this site exists and that these boards are here.  I can only assume that had this been around when I played (92-95) I would have been on here like some punk talkin trash...whether we were good or bad (and we were both at times)

Pep - well said.

fan of d3 - I started the responses to wicknation so I will address your percieved bashing.  I didn't bash him at all.  In fact I welcomed him aboard and stated that I hoped he would stick around as it is nice to have more teams represented.  I did state that I thought the "here I am, respect my team" habit is annoying and overplayed.  His team beat 2 good teams and he should be proud, coming on here telling everyone they don't respect his program is lame.  Finally - the people telling him to retire are doing it for his own good.  It was noticed that he is a current player and other than Upstate there has not been a good track record of players posting.  He is saving himself a big headache by abstaining.

We have only bashed one Wick poster, a current defensive player, who joined the forum to tell us how great the Wick defense is playing.  The defense that is giving up 33.2 ppg and 400+ ypg.  That is an outlandish statement fully deserving any criticism it gets.

I don't think anyone has bashed that admiral dude or the Sox fan except to say that it is hard to believe they are not bandwagon fans considering the fact that they appeared following two big wins.  I think it is hard to argue that such criticism is unjustified.

Furthermore, there is this little nugget that the WickWagon must answer for:

To the Hartwick fans attempting to register for the message board -- I know you're new here, but you have to have a real e-mail address. Registering with a fake address gets you nowhere. Please try to read the instructions or the Terms of Service.

I still dont give a crap whats happening outside of Oneonta...kidding.  I am just glad that I can have hope for hartwick doing well this year ...because the last few years by this time of year I was waiting to see who was going to represent the E8 so i could pull for them in the payoffs.

As we have been concentrating on the HC v IC and SJF games, no one has asked why HC had such a hard time v Husson.  HC could have lost that game to quite a low rated team.  ???
