Okay gentlemen... looks like I can shed some light on this argument about financial aid.

I looked at Ivy league, Patriot league and some PSAC schools, obviously nothing panning out through them... however I would have been paying only a few thousand more through the Ivy leagues like Princeton and Penn.

My final three came down to Hobart, UR and Fisher... all were equal in cost give or take 1,000 dollars.

Never applied to Ithaca, St Lawrence was amazing but never gave them a real chance.

I know those aren't E8 schools I'm comparing but when it comes to financial aid I came to find out that every school is going to be somewhat similar if they want you.

The other schools I visited I don't remember the packages they offered because they weren't in my final decision making process.

Final thought... There is no cheating in getting more financial aid out there for athletes that are wanted by the staff and have the grades to get in.  I was fortunate enough to get money from all those schools because of my grades, they won't give out scholarships on sports alone... when it comes to D3 the grades are what can give you that extra aid to help...

Hope that helps a bit!

did Ithaca even look at you?

If they didn't, they probably wish they did.

I know this topic has been put to bed, but found it interesting that
I was accepted and visited at least 20 schools, and alot more showed interest.  But anyways, never heard a thing from Ithaca, or RPI for that matter,
best package was from Wilkes.  Best state school Brockport (by far) worst was Muhlenberg, SJF- excellent recruiting program
Any IC posters know why Ithaca so unaggressive in recruiting efforts?
Because they suck

A punitive +k for that analysis.

Honestly though, I've heard the same about IC's recruiting recently and it annoys me (with IC, not people saying it). Anyone know the deal? Tecmo?

I know that there are many politically correct posters on here, so I don't expect a comment from any of them, But am I the only NJAC or other eastern conference  fan that recognizes a blatant lack of coverage and respect in the around the region piece.

ATR should be called "About the E8 &LL"

I just glanced back at every Adam Samrov article .  All 17 of them start out with a lead from an E8 or a LL team as does about 85% of all the ink on the articles.

It has actually become a joke when I open up the page each week

Adam probally writes  what he knows...and as he is from an E8 school and lives in the middle of the LL...it's probally easier for him to write that stuff...but give adam credit because that is a hard job and he does a great job with it overall and p.s. coming on here and bashing him is not a great idea...

Rowanlb.

Send Adam a note or end the NJAC SID's messages to send Adam a note (maybe they already do). He's going to write to his audience, which is predominantly E8 & LL. I don't think he's doing it on purpose and I agree with the other posters that he's writing about what he knows.

Darn, I forgot to use spell check.

What do you expect, I'm from Rowan.

What i was getting at is that football, as compared to other sports, produces far fewer upsets.

Isn't this just basic probability from 7th grade math?  Football, as compared to other sports, plays far fewer games.  Therefore, Football has significantly fewer opportunities for a game to end in an "upset."

I would guess, without checking, that football games end in an "upset" at a relatively similar percentage to other sports.
If football is so straight forward why do i keep losing money every weekend on my bets?  I must be missing something...

Because your bets are determined by point spreads, not pure w-l columns.  Also bc the people that make those lines are employed to make those lines for a living that influences millions of dollars.  They use stats, variables and plug them into lengthy equations that are much smarter than you or I and smile while they take our money.  THere is a reason that Las Vegas has not gone outta business.
Yea i get the concept ... I just took a sarcastic line to say that football isnt always so predictable that you can pick winners and losers soley based on a few factors ...ie - size, speed
