ok soopah had a dream...and here it is...

the E8 is like the American League
Ithaca=The Yankees...they have been dominant for a long time and the fans always have ridiculas expectations

Fisher=Boston fans tend to fall on the line of pyschotic and thinking that they are god...lots of fake fans who jumped on board during the magical run...the red sox/fisher spend the same as the Yankees/bombers on all things...

and honestly thats all I could think of in my dream night night all...

so your saying the yankees now suck... or Fisher just wants to be like the Bombers and still hasn't come close yet?

Bo Sox dominated...Beckett is nasty
Fisher isnt close to Ithaca ... no disrespect to SJF but you have been strong for the last what... 4 or 5 years?  Ithaca for as long as I can remember...

Beckett did look nasty last night...I seriously don't know how someone can take the Sox out with the pitching staff they have...

I also agree on the "grand" scale, no one is close to Ithaca in the Empire 8.  Their tradition goes way back.  Fisher in last few years could/can literally play with anyone in the country...and still can.  I don't care if it was 16 years ago (1991...I beleive the last National Championship for Ithaca), until others win a NC from the Empire 8, Ithaca will be the standard...

Ahhh the Hartwick posters are in the relentlessly stroking off Ithaca stage, we've all been there guys and it will take you some time before you start forming real opinions and not just looking at the name.  But enjoy your two wins this year, I'm sure you will look back on them fondly for the next 20 years when you continue to be bottom feeders.

A) But aren't excuses what the SJF faithful are using on the last call?
B) Guess that means we are equal to IC and SJF on neutral site.
C) Thank you
D) I guess we're the exception.

No we blew that game..no excuses...
B) ummm probaly not...I will reserve judgement on the Wick Homefield advantage to the end of the season at which point I will give you a caculated amount that the cage is worth
C)your gonna need all the luck you can get...
D)it will catch up to you...with the springfields of the world...

Just reading up on this morning.  Ya know, admiral is way outta touch with a lot of things.  However, I've gotta give him props for coming on here and saying what he thinks and not backing down (even if he's wrong).  I would like to be able to quote the movie Major League right now when Pedro Cerrano looks towards the bench and says something about big balls in spanish.  But I dont know Spanish.

I'm not stroking anyone's ego...facts are facts.  Man...someone needs to get a cup of coffee this AM.  I think Fisher has one hell of a program...clearly a top 10 team in the country over the last 5 years.  But let's not go crazy.  The first time I remember Fisher being even competitive was around 2001 or 2002...I think they were about 6-4 (which is respectful...but nothing to write home to mom about).  It's only the last 5 years when they have made the next step and finished every year with at least 8 wins.  This happens to coincide with the Bills coming in and setting up shop.    Clearly, the coaching staff and the administration has got it right at Fisher.  Even though I am a 'Wick fan, I can make an honest assessment with "stroking" anyone's ego.

Food for thought...this is the first time that I can think of (unless someone knows something different) that a team has beaten Ithaca and Fisher in the same year.  Obviously, if 'Wick finishes it out 5-5, it was a missed opportunity...but still a good feat for a team trying to get back to where they were a few years ago...where they could play with anyone...

Jose,

Like I told you a couple weeks ago, the highschool football team I coach in Miami has a very tough test coming up, tomorrow night against the Northwestern Bulls.  It could get ugly but hopefully we can hang around for atleast one quarter.  I know you are a huge fan of Florida football, so I recommend you get ahold of a film called "Year of the Bull."  It's a great documentary about the power that is Northwestern High School in Miami, FL.  Anybody else interested in big-time high school football should also see this film.  It portrays the struggles that these inner city kids endure, and how football is in many ways their only chance to go to college.

Seen it and loved it.  Don't drink the S. Fla. kool aid though.  There are plenty of programs with longer histories of domination in Florida.  I saw Northwestern play on ESPN earlier this year.  They definitely have put together a good club.

Remind me again where you are coaching.

After this year Fisher loses -Hanson-Kramer-Corey Jackson-Stepnick-Reile-Miranto-Flagler-Fortune and Harmon-- thats a bunch of good players and their first game in 08 is Mt Union.

Well depending on who enters the league after Norwich I think any team that can beat these two in the same year will be a shocker.

I see how you could compare the E8 to the AL East.
Yankees= Ithaca
Sox = Fisher
Toronto =Alfred
Orioles = Springfield
Rays = Hartwick
AAA Syracuse = Utica
Single A team = Norwich

Please.  Enough with the analogies.  I know IC has won a lot since the beginning of the E8 and has a storied tradition long before that.  I have two uncles that went to IC, one during the year they won the national championship (he tells a great story of harrassing the Cortland Qb with a call to Cortland security to get his fone number the night before the Cortica Jug).  However, let it go.  Ya, you've got a great tradition.  I for one dont give two hoots (my language is G rated due to the cordialty of the board, and if cordialty is not a word, it should be) about your history.  Talking about stroking your ego.  I think the only way that IC fans get through these days with 2 losses so early in the season is by giving themselves verbal (fill in here) jobs.

I'm ready to move past the analogies too, and I'm an Ithaca fan.  Or maybe I'm just tired of the self verbal fill in jobs.

Ok ok,  I showed Hartwick love on my last post and now people are talking about Hartwick as if they are better than Mt. Union.  They are an improving team with 2 great wins but its still alot of season left.  I got 2 words for you, Paul Keeley.  As much as the Wick fans want to think it will be a close sorry guys its not going to happen.  The kid is playing out of his mind this year.  Tom Brady like numbers so I find it a little hard to believe that Hartwick's Defense will not look like Spaghetti Strainer this weekend.

Final Score
AU 42
Wick 17

7's When the next time you comming up this way?

I don't know which person you are talking about that is a 'Wick fan that is acting like they are better then Mt. Union.  That is absolutely crazy.  I hope the game this weekend will be a great game...and I will be hoping for a big Hawks win...but there is absolutely no question 'Wick is the underdog with still a lot to prove.  There is not a single legit 'Wick fan that thinks this will be an easy game.  Alfred crushed Springfield...so everyone knows what they are capable of.  No predictions...just hoping for a great game.

It was a sad pilgrimmage home from the bars last night in wrigleyville.  Hundreds of people slowly walking silently back from the sports bars. Lilly will bring us a win.
