Hartwick beat Fisher alot more than that.... we didnt lose to them once in the 4 years i was there....and i think for two additional years after that...

Well alot of the people here seem to give that as the primary reason why Fisher turned into the program they are which I partly agree with.  Some of them also contend that if the camp ever leaves Fisher will stop being competitive, this is the part I disagree with.  With the facilities they have, the alumni support, the success they've had the past 5 years (which people dismiss as not long, but honestly Fisher has only been a D3 program for 15 years or so, so what do they expect? Fisher to somehow dominate D3 football from back in the 70's when they didn't have a team?)....and they can always tell recruits in the future if the camp leaves, hey the Las Vegas Bills (formerly the Buffalo Bills) used to train here isn't that neat? now play for us...

I agree ... i think they would still be strong if the bills left ... the big thing the bills brought was the facilties right?  Its not like they can take that away... they have built a good rep and last i remeber rochester was a good area for recruiting D3 level players...so its sounds like they have a good thing going.

and no the bills did not really bring the facilities the facilities were here before the bills...the reason that the football team is good and the bills came is because of all of the hard work that Katherine Keough did for fisher (and rest her soul it was about 3 years ago know that she passed)

Katherine was our former president, but she passed away a couple of years ago.  She did alot in making the Fisher team what it is.

The facilities helped bring players.  SJF ALWAYS had players.  But the facilities brought MORE players, and success breeds success, and that brought in more players.  And it will continue to bring players for years, as long as the coaching staff doesn't blow the momentum.  And when they have a down year, they will rebuild the next year.  THere is a reason why Ithaca, RPI, Union, Hobart, Springfield, etc etc, are in the hunt EVERY year.  Because success breeds more success.  Some programs blow it and lose it, and some just keep it over a long period of time.  

The facilities are a HUGE help.  The coaching staff is obviously doing the right things.  The Bills are a marketing ploy.  Once they leave, they won't be missed if the program continues to be successful.

And leave the damn Wickies alone.  Hartwick has a reason to be excited.  Let them be excited.  It's about time they have some posters here.  Everyone goes through it, and if they stick around, you'll all be friends.  Otherwise, they will fade into the sunset, like so manyothers...So enough...

For the record, not for or against any team...but i'd like to see Hartwick beat Alfred and make the E8 a complete clusterf*ck...The East has been wild this year so it would be fitting.

People need to get off the Bills training camp kick. The players brought success to Fisher. Kids were given a shot to play, made the most of it, and won some ballgames. That success brings in the next class of recruits who are a little more talented, and they go on to win a few more games.

Before you know it, you've got a class in there that leads them to the Eastern Region Finals in 2006.

That's what happened.

booby in my opinion she is the reason that fisher was successful...she brought in all of the new facilities...football, baseball, softball she brought in the new Varsity Gym Floor...though the rest of the gym sucks...She got the Campus center started and she got founders and the abptly named Keough Dorm built

Yes LewDogg I am trying to be kinder to some of the Wick posters, the ones that are obviously making the effort to put in actual input.  I jump on them whenever they talk about Hartwick in a positive way but I don't really know why, I would be excited if I were them too.  

From here on out you guys will be able to see a more gentle Booby...


That is unless comments are made about how Fisher is just a fad that will go away.
