Got my update about 2 hours ago and just getting home. CRAP!!!! and WOW! I don't believe in moral victories and although I appreciate the respect from the AU fans on the board I prefer the W. From what I've heard and read (via game summary) is.

1. Red zone failures killed us.
2. Wick was up 16-14 late in 1st half and only down 21-16 at half.
3. got down big early in second half, but came back to 35-30 with 12 min. left.

4. Total yards HC-634  AU-476

5. Passing 553 HOLY CRAP.

I think I predicted last week that that both teams would be near 40 pts. It sounded like a helluva game to watch.

Final Score

Fisher 45
Brockport 7

Ithaca, Alfred, and Springfield win as well.  Chaos has been subdued for the time being.  Hartwick did better than I thought they would, so good job to them.

TGP has done some statistical analysis on the Saxons and has determined that the Pep Band may actually be causing AU to get into penalty issues (probably b/c the team is listening to the band and forgetting the snap count).

AU is currently averaging 100/yds a game in penalties.

TGP wonders how many of these are caused by noisy kazoos?

Just to readdress this issue after today's game, I wouldn't be surprised if the Saxons committed 200 yrds of penalties today.  Some were questionable calls like pushing Crea as he crossed the end zone as unnessassary roughness, but mostly Alfred just looked undisciplined.  That, I fear, is going to come back and haunt the Saxons during that brutal 3 game road trip to end the season.

155yds to be exact and I can only hope that your right down the road.

Hey KAZ, obviously you were at the game. Question: How did HC's O-line hold up today? Was AU blitzing much?

At this point I'd think you'd want to root for Alfred to win out and convincingly.  There will at most be 1 Pool C out of the E8 and if Fisher and Alfred finish with 1 loss, Hartwick would be stuck.  Or if Fisher finished with 1 loss and Alfred with 2 losses, then Wick would be hurt as well.

Only 2 sacks of Boltus that I can remember.  There could have been a third.  He was hurried a bunch of times, but he's so good that he turned most of those broken plays into first downs.  There were a couple times when our D-Line really held Wick back in short yardage situations.

The biggest compliment I can give is the way Wick hung in when they fell down 35-16.  It felt like they were one bad series away from packing it in, but they kept fighting and never stopped until the final interception with a minute left.

At this point I'm not trying to figure the what-ifs, there are probably so many scenarios it would make my head hurt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Fisher is the only other team with one loss in conference wouldn't 'wick get the AQ?

If both teams had 1 conference loss at the end of the season then yes Wick would get the AQ....

However that would require that AU loses to IC and SJF beats AU in the final week of the season....

They have a hard time picking up short yadage with the run. Carr has focused on the passing game (he has said we're a passing team and thats it) and you can't really argue with that from the results. I don't know if it is lack of working on technique or he doesn't feel he has the personel on the line to run block. The o-line is young 2-jrs & 3-sophs, with only 1 of the jrs. being a starter last year. This year isn't finished by any means, but the way the line and Boltus work together next year could be scary.

And Hartwick still has to defeat Springfield and their bitter rival Utica.

Agreed this thing is far from over, but if was there wouldn't be anything to talk about here.
