As a Yankee fan, I listen to people complain all the time that George is buying success.  My response as a Yankee fan, "WHO CARES"!!  I don't care why they win, in the words of Al Davis, "Just win, baby".  This sounds like the same arguement that people are throwing at the SJF program (the Bills building the Fisher program).  And I would say the response would be the same, "Who cares", "Just win, baby".

Honestly, I don't think anyone would dispute this point.  The question about the Bills involvement, at least for me, centers around how much credit SJF's coaching staff deserves for their recent run of sucess.

All this talk about what program each team would be in DI makes me sick.  I dont give a rats a$$.  And ya wanna know y?  Cuz now that AU is finally in first place in the E8 and the ONLY team that is undefeated, everyone else wants to live in some fantasy world in which their alma mater is some other team.  Gimme a break.

sarge it's a slow day... and live in that fantasy world...untill you travel to IC, Bart, and then the Showdowney at SnowGrowney  you'll be lucky to win 2 of 3 if your still giving up 600 yards of offense

Jose, Marv isn't on the sidelines at SJF. Their staff is still responsible for putting the athletes they bring into a position to win on gameday.  Outside of the playing field, I'm not sure that the lockerrooms or training rooms are what encourage the high school athletes to go to Fisher.  I'd be more inclined to think it's the coaches who do the recruiting (I'll never forget Buddy Sims, in fact my daughter was on a first name basis with him and she was in 7th grade at the time) that are getting the kids to go to Fisher more than anything else.  Do the facilities help, of course.  But winning and recruiting outweigh facilities (in my opinion).

Another little outburst by Chris7Sarge....It reminds me of Kobe Bryant talking about Raja Bell and his bitterness/insecurities "I don't know maybe he wasn't hugged enough as a kid"

ok... so I thought of something fun to do...I am going to compare the teams in the E8 to DI teams...

Ithaca-Florida State/Tennesee they were dominant a while back but since have had a hard time finding a quaterback of their dreams and are in the midst of a few down years for the program....

Alfred-Oregon always in it a little bit but has never made the big leap to the next level...

Springfield-not quite sure on this one anyone have any ideas...

Fisher-I don't want to be biased so someone else can throw out an idea...

Hartwick-Rutgers/Illinois a team that is capable of a few upsets but relys way to much on one or two players

Norwich-Stanford capable of an upset everyonce in awhile but has more important things to worry about than football

Utica-Florida Atlantic/Florida International-still very new to game give them some time and they will be there with the big boys

Springfield - Nebraska?

Soupman,(just trying to spell badly)    Saxon73 wants to be Penn St.  Selfishly to personal reasons, plus Coach Yunevich (capable of understatement) may have been a JoePa type, Penn State won the Lambert Trophy (or Cup) the same year AU won the Lambert Bowl, and both geographical areas have been refered to as "Happy Valley"

it's close but Alfred has not had nearly the success that Penn State has...

I agree with SJFF82.  IC guys, you have to remember that the Fisher program is still a young program in college football.  Teams like Ithaca and Alfred have had football for like 100 years or something.  I think the Fisher guys are just trying to point out that, for a young program, we have had some success on the gridiron.

And yes ICdubbz, you did "monkey stomp" us for 12 years.  But here is the problem for you:  We are going to monkey stomp you for years and years to come!  Haha.  Our facilities are better, we are affiliated with a professional football team, and the Rochester area is very centrally located.  Plus Rochester is alot more fun than Ithaca, sorry to say.  AND our staff is alot better at recruiting and we have the best up and coming program in NYS.

I'm assuming this post will cause some drama but I have to defend my alma mater.  I'll be back later to see the consequences of my very opinionated post.

'05... Your logic is bogus. Just because Ralph Wilson decided to put the Bills in Rochester for training camp at SJF, that doesn't mean that they will automatically get the best recruits because there is a professional football team that practices there! It helps in the money end of it -- more money for recruiting in general, more for facilities, etc., but just because the Bills are there doesn't make them a better football team.

Does anyone know what the NY Giants training camp has done for SUNY Albany?

Not sure but it looks like they lost pretty bad to Rowan in 2000 which is pretty sweet.

Sorry Mr Sarge but I must take exception to your thesis.  I don't believe we should compare the Professional prostitues to D3 football.  Mr Steinbrenner believes in the golden rule - He who has the gold rules -  I grew up with the Yankees - Mantle, Berra, Maris, Boyer, Kubek, Howard, Ford , Turley, Skowron etc.  They stayed with their team, we as kids knew the team, memorized statistics as they didn't go off to another league or whatever.  It was a much simpler life with some consistancy and the chance to follow your team.  I roll with college sports.  I got tired with a bunch of nebulous players coming and going in Pro sports and playing musical teams.  However I do understand rooting for your team in your geographical area.  If you can afford it you can actually see them play.

BoSox - looks like a good pick, but I must say I had season tickets in'82 when Penn St beat Nebraska on their way to beating Hershel Walker and Georgia in the Sugar Bowl for the National Championship.  Going into the game there was a saying "Hershel is a Walker but (Curt) Warner is a runner"
