Frank,  All things considered, is Curry ready to step up?

That's like asking me if better pitching would have made Tampa Bay a better team this season.   Ummmm...

Thanks Frank, but I don't have any idead what you are talking about.  Not a big BB fan

BOL...basically, I don't keep close track of the NEFC teams because, under correct conditions (see discussion about SoS this year for some personal concern) they have little to do with the rest of the East Region aside from their one auto-bid -- it's irrelevant science.

Okay Frank,  I'll just "take that underadvisement."

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry I have been off line for a few days here...and probably will be for a few more after tonight...

Should be a great game on Saturday...with a ton on the line.  Biggest question mark for SJF is will they be able to stay patient and within their offense if Springfield goes on long, 7-8 minute scoring drives.  As always, the biggest question mark for Springfield is whether or not they can stick around with their game plan if Fisher gets up early.

TON of talent on the field...and not just E8 talent...national talent.  Sharpe, Kramer, Smith, Hanson...should be a fantastic game to watch.  I know SJF is probably favored...but with a player like Sharpe and a coach like DeLong...it could be an interesting day.

They'll be fine as long as Faggiano keeps on doing what he's been doing vs SC.  The 55 pts SC put up on SJF was a fluke, in their 3 other meetings they scored 24, 14 and 21 (twice at Benendum field).  Stepnick will be all over the field again making plays and keeping sharpe contained.

SJF just needs to come out and continue running the ball vs their 3-4 Defense and get the ball to Jimmy Smith and Chris Harmon through the air.  If Kramer doesnt turn the ball over SJF wins going away.....

Yanks , you make good points.  However, I aam constantly befuddeled and amazed how top E8 football cannot stop Sharpe.  It is a one dimmensional offense. I don't understand it!

AU put some nasty hits on Utica QB Greg Pinelli and, to his credit, after sitting out a play or two, he was back out there asking for more. Saw him after the game. Tough kid. Competitor. While he didn't do much damage with his arm, he scrambled for positive yardage. Utica did a nice job of denying Vinson Hendrix up the gut and has a couple of solid defensive linemen. Hendrix was denied the century mark for the first time this season. Nevertheless, Pep expects the Bombers will roll.

In an attempt to get some life on the boards, Pep offers these NYS prognostications for Saterday:

Ithaca 30, Utica 6. Bombers are building momentum on their mission to salvage the season. Meanwhile, the Pioneers are denied again in their quest for some tillable soil where they might establish a settlement.

Hamilton 6, Colby 3. The Continentals put together a rare two-game win streak, doubling up a cold Colby team. But they do it without the offensive outburst of last week's 23 points, only their third double figure scoring in the past three years.

Alfred 31, Husson 13. A rugged Eagle defense holds the Saxons below their scoring average but AU's seniors finish with an unbeaten record at home for 2007.

Brockport 38, Morrisville 20. The Green and Gold Eagles fly over the much greener Mustangs of Moo'ville.

Montclair State 28, Cortland 24. They'll be painting the town red. The Red Hawks are for real in this matchup with the Red Dragons. How do you like them apples?

Hobart 33, St. Lawrence 14. Hobart's offense is putting up big numbers. The Saints aren't. But watch for the North Country squad to keep it close into the third quarter.

Rensselaer 37, Merchant Marine 12. The Engineers are rolling along and have no problem sinking the Mariners from Kings Point.

Rochester 31, WPI 28. The home field makes the difference as the Yellowjackets sting Worcester.

Springfield 26, St. John Fisher 24. In Pep's upset special, The Pride miss two extra points but get four Sharpe TD runs to edge the Cardinals in only their second game at Benedum this season. There's no place like home, there's no place like home.

Hartwick 49, Mount Ida 28. The Hawks are still flying high...Ida know..are there are any mountains in Newton, MASS?

Newport News 27, SUNY Maritime 6. The only good news for SUNY Maritime is that their last two opponents are Becker and Gallaudet.

Brockport plays Wesley this week.........

Well then, the Eagles certainly won't be corralling any Mustangs then, will they? Good call, PG04....Pep is posting on just a few zzzzzs.
Let's say the Eagles get a Special Olympics shocker and beat Wesley 27-21 just for the fun of it...and to throw a wrench into the works.

i dunno how u say the 55 was a fluke based off their other three meetings?  At one point do u start to disregard history and start a new era.  You can manipulate numbers to say anything.

Yes, the three previous games they held the SC offense at bay.

In other news:  In the last 2 meetings between springfield and sjf springfield is outscoring SJF 38 to 32...

Any thoughts on the Hobart game?  Expecting both teams win this week, of course.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Its an option offense... so even though you know the option is coming you never know what is actually going to happen.... and who will end up with the ball

Fan stop kidding yourself...If Springfield had put up even 30 in the second meeting we would not say it was a fluke but they got held to 21 in the playoffs at home... and in the last 4 meetings Fisher is out scoring Springfield 37.5-28.5

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Having called three Springfield games in the last 60 weeks, I can tell you that it was not a "fluke."  Springfield has the ability to turn it up a notch against anyone.  I think it was more a case that the SJF defense was still maturing mid-season for that meeting -- so maybe the SJF defensive output in that game was a fluke.  Some teams have begun adjusting well to Springfield and have beaten them this season.  However, they are still not to be taken gently.
