I'm pumped for the Fisher game tomorrow.  I love this D3 cast thing.  Now, I can watch the games from my home here in Florida.  I hope, in the coming seasons, that Fisher comes up with something like Ithaca has (ICTV).  Then hopefully we can watch all the games over the internet.

Sorry sarge--watch him and then judge.
He is not an all american fo nothing----Im going to fight you tooth and nail about this one---so ya may just want to pick a new topic.

He's an all american?  In your view, is he as good as Brady?

Sarge,

I can attest to the talent of both Brady and Stepnick first hand.  I played for Fisher from 2001-2004, although 2001 and 2002 I was so badly injured I never played.  In 2004, my senior season (and maybe yours? cant remember) we beat AU at your place for the E8 title and the AQ.  I remember the game vividly, and Brady was by far the best player on the football field.  He had a interception return for a TD, another rushing TD from tailback, and like 20 tackles.  He was the best linebacker I ever saw in the E8 in my time.  I also coached for Fisher in 2005, and he single handedly beat us in the finale at Growney and ruined our season.  I'm sure he had some professional interest right?

I also played with Stepnick for one season, as he was a freshman when I was a senior.  Then, I was the defensive back coach in 2005 and coached him personally.  So, I can also attest to his greatness.  I believe he is the best cornerback to ever play in the E8 (only been around like 6 years, but still).  He has something like 18 career interceptions, and teams have been avoiding him for 2 years now.  He would have more INT's if teams didn't fear him so much.  He is also the best tackling DB I have ever seen at the D3 level.  Great open field tackler and very physical.  At 6'1 200 LBS, with a 4.5 forty, he is also receiving some professional interest.

It is hard to compare Brady and Stepnick, since they play such different positions.  But I wouldn't say with a "resounding NO" that Stepnick is on the level of Brady.  I think its awfully close.  Both players might be the best at their positions the E8 has seen.  So, you have to give both their due respect.

Thanks.  I guess this puts things into a much better perspective.  I did not realize that he was THAT good.  It was tough for me to imagine another defender of that caliber.  My senior season was that game in '04 at AU.  Brady was our best offensive and defensive player that day and he was only on goal line O.  He scored 2 tds and one on D to keep us in it.

I also have felt a little wierd throughout this argument, praising Brenton like I had a man crush.

Since you lived in Alfred for four years its not that much of a shock that you confessed your man crush on him......

Ok I must be bored because I am going to compare a bunch  of teams to movies...

Ithaca-Scarface, an oldie but a goodie, they were big a while back winning a couple of National Championships, they still are relevant now, but not as big as they were back then.

Fisher-The Departed, the new scarface, we will wait and see if it can be as good as long as scarface was but right now it is the hottest thing around

Alfred-Shrek, They are not one of the greatest movies of all time but it is still relevant and still always a threat to steal the box office

Springfield-Transformers, all flash no substance has the possibility to blow up the box office but overall is just a lot of flash and not a lot substance

Hartwick- Office Space, a movie that does well but also is underated...will be the talk if it can get in with the right crowd

Utica-From Justin to Kelly, ummm at least Kelly Clarkson is...well never mind...it's just bad

Norwich-Gigli, we just wish it never showed...

RPI-Revenge of the Nerds-nuff said

Union-Animal House-lots of frat boys wondering around they are a good movie that will have a lot of fans...

more to come maybe

I am not accustomed to typing on a laptop so bear with me.  In all of your comparisons you say ithaca was great, they used to be such a powerhouse, they just arent that good anymore. and you say that sjf is the hottest thing around, they're the top dog, yadda yadda we get it.  It just gets old hearing how great sjf is, we all know.  Expand your E8 knowledge somewhat or at least talk about something different occasionally

fan, it's all in fun...if you don't like it don't read it...

If I may, I'd like to expand a little on my man crush from today, as it is not yet over.
The year following my senior year, '05, AU traveled to Growney and 'upset' SJF on their home turf.  It was a game full of great stories, Julio dominated the 4th qt. as a freshman, Keeley went back to the school he had transferred from (and hated, no offense) and played a great game after getting rocked on a blindside hit and he went crazy when the horn went off.
However, Brady was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that game.
I was coaching at AU that year and had the defensive backs.  After a great game, it all came down to one play with @4 seconds left from the @8 yd line.  I'm in the box and on the headphones with Murray.  He calls up and says "Whatdya think Sarge?  Do we send him? (Brady, he didn't need to be referred to by name, it was kinda like referring to "The Guy Upstairs", you just knew who he was talking about)  I stuttered for a few minutes, shocked that he would even ask me (prolly one of his many tests where he asks a question but already knows the solution; I failed), and then I spat out, "Well.. they gotta be going to Noah, drop him back on Noah."  Murray thought about it for a minute, and then goes "Nope, I'm sending him.  Dance with the girl that brought ya."
Next play, he sends Brady off the left side of the D around the corner, and he wasn't even touched!  I mean, he is only the best player in the E8 for 2 years running, the guy who has destroyed you all game, and you dont even bother assigning ANYONE to him.  Not even a chip from a TE or RB!
Well, Brady hit that QB so hard, both feet were about chest level, the ball never crossed the line of scrimmage, I think I saw a shoe go flying with a leg still in it.  And that was game.
AU then got bent over and snubbed from the playoffs by a team that had been ranked behind us all year.
Is that QB still there?  He had to have been awfully sore after that game cuz Brady was just destroying him and anyone else he came in contact with (including the golden boy Robinson; was that low?)

superman57

ya sarge that was low because robinson shouldn't of even been playing because of his shoulder...

I agree, I wish he would of taken a redshirt that season and he'd be playing this season....

That QB your referring too sarge graduated, Kramer replaced him as the starter halfway through the Rochester game in 06 and its been his show since...

Any other Fisher fans a little worried about Springfield this weekend? I would like to think that if Fisher wins out they should get into the playoffs regardless of what Hartwick does the rest of the way, but this is a big one for Fisher.

If they can get past this weekend, they should handle Utica next week, and then it is all down to the big game. AU and Fisher at Growny for the playoffs possibly for at least one team...Wow that could be a lot of fun.

Got to get through this weekend tho. For some reason I am really scared.
GO FISHER!!!
