Not to change the subject but Wasington and Jefferson has been a long time favorite of Saxon73, beware.

It's OK.  Alfred fans have the right to change the subject since they are the only ones that control their own destiny.   :)

I mean nothing for nothing but if Fisher wins against Utica and Alfred Finishing 9-1 and ranked in the top 10 I would assume they would get a Pool C if the auto bid situation doesn't work itself out in their favor.  So they kind of control their own destiny as far as playoffs go...

I would think you're right, but would any of us be completely shocked if a 3-way tie for the E8 sent Hartwick to the NCAAs while Alfred and Fisher sat at home?  I think we'd be pissed, but it's not outside of the realm of possibility.

Speaking of Hartwick, does anyone have an update on their score from today?

I agree booby.  I think if we win out and finish 9-1, we get in as either the AQ or pool C.  Our national ranking and last years success would put us in I would think.

Yeah but what about Alfred?  And Cortland got left out last year with 1 loss.  Last year's success and this year's ranking has no bearing on playoff selections.

And, like Kazoo said, if Hartwick somehow gets the AQ, what would happen?
That would mean Fisher beat Alfred, and they both would have 9-1 records.  I'm assuming this would send Fisher due to a head-to-head win, and Alfred would be watching from home once again (which would be absolutely crazy)

Hartwick  35
Mt. Ida    14      FINAL

I still think Springfield will beat Hartwick.  The game is in the cage @ Oneonta though.

Yeah when I posted that I meant if the scenario had it as Fisher finishing 9-1 and Alfred 9-1 as well, with both going in....But Hartwick kind of screws things up.  They may very well have cost the E8 a second team going to the playoffs with what they have done when all is said and done.

I think Hartwick should beat Springfield given the results of this year... However I think Hartwick may crumble under the pressure...

boobyhasgameyo

and while this year's rankings may have no official bearing on the selection, you don't think it would play a role deep down in the minds of the people in the selection committee if Fisher is ranked in the top 10 or maybe even top 5 if they finish 9-1 and they don't select them?  They may not admit it but come on...

FisherAlum05

If SC can control the clock and score often against the porous Hartwick defense, they will probably win.  Although Hartwicks offense will score plenty against the SC defense.  That should be a tight game I would think.  I'm rooting for SC to beat Wick.  Then the AQ wont be so darn complicated for us to figure out  ;)

Thats what I was thinking.  It would be hard for the committee to leave out a team ranked in the top 10 (or possibly top 5 by then) in the country.  I just dont see a 9-1 Fisher team ranked #7 in the country getting left out.  But, anything can happen.  Plus, we still have to beat Alfred before any of this comes into play.

Root for Utica to beat Hartwick... Don't you love an underdog story?

I'm pretty sure a top 10 team has been left out before.  Pat, can you confirm that at all?  Anyway, I DO think because of the strength of the conference, if Fisher has 1 loss they'd get in regardless.

I will definitely be rooting for it, seeing as though Utica has played them tough the past couple of years.  Although it would make Fisher and Ithaca losing to Hartwick that much more perplexing...
