What does the NCAA have to lose??  MONEY.  PERIOD.  If they didn't stand to lose revenue from a tournament they would have already made the transition by now.  Everyone knows a playoff system is the fairest thing, but when the NCAA and partcipating schools stand to lose in revenue they will never change.

At some point, pressure from outside factors (politicians, fans, disgust over the BCS) will cause the NCAA to revert to a play-off system, but it's not going to happen overnight.

First we'll get a BCS +1, essentially a four team playoff system.

And then that field will be expanded to 8, and then 16, and then hopefully it will stop at 16. But I bet we're still a couple of decades away from a 16 team playoff.

Hobart's campus radio station, WEOS, will have the game. As far as I know, the always solid Ted Baker is doing the broadcast.

Yes, lemme give props to Ted -- Always great to hear his voice when you're driving back from Rochester.  Wish they'd give him some more solid backup help, but he could carry the game alone if he needed to.  You can't go wrong with the WEOS broadcast with Ted at the helm.

Agree with you 100%.  Great on the call for both Hobart Football and Lax games.  Really surprising that a little station like WEOS has had such a great radio guy for all these years.  He's a consummate pro.  HWS is very, very lucky to have him.

Hobart is just his side gig. He works for the Finger Lakes Radio Group and has a morning news show from 5-9.

Any AU fans or Hobart fans know if the AU/Hobart game is gonna be on the web?  Last year it was on the Bart radio and the guy said like between like every like word. Like.

When traveling with Pep Jr. II, Pep has made an in-car rule (sometimes applies elsewhere as well) that four words are prohibited from Pep Jr. II's conversation. The four words are: 1) Dad, 2) um, 3) anyway, and..... 4) like. The kid, bless his heart, gets on a roll and can't speak anything out BUT those words, er, um, so it, like, seems, anyway...DAD!!!!

The games we play....just some more random rambling from Pep.

LOL. My job actually took me out to East Lansing, Mich., this past weekend. Couldn't walk two feet without seeing a Spartans logo or green. Downtown and around the MSU campus was completely silent all  Saturday afternoon as everyone must've been glued to ABC watching the MSU-OSU game.

On the other hand, the Michigan State campus and the athletics complex is absolutely gorgeous. It's pretty spread out and extends just about into downtown. The most interesting feature was the outdoor pool next to the artificial turf stadium (probably used for field hockey, soccer). Pool was still open and had people swimming in it when I drove past on Friday - thanks global warming!

But, the best part of the weekend, a BW3 right across the street from my hotel.

What money does the NCAA get from the bowl system?

I'm not sure if they get any part of the revenues.  But the teams that play in the bowl games, along with their conferences, get a large chunk of money.  Plus, teams make money from ticket sales, apparel sales, and television contracts.  I think the NCAA is happy with the current system because interest in Division 1 football is greater than ever.  And, like I said earlier, upsets inside a tournament might have a profound effect on fans interest as well as ticket sales and revenue from other sources like sponsorships.

I guess I dont really know why there is no tournament.  There should be dont get me wrong.  But, the common thought of people involved points to revenues as the main reason why they keep the bowl system.

Fisher better not take Utica lightly.  Yes they are Utica.  But we still have to show up and play well.  These games could make or break us for a Pool C.  We better come up and pound them as expected.
