Pool C
-------

(Edit:  Note that there are 22 Pool A (Auto) Bids, 3 Pool B Bids and 7 Pool C (Runner-Up) Bids this season.)

After eliminating teams with more than two regional losses and eliminating teams that are in control of their own destiny with two regional losses -- and applying a subjective approach to a couple teams based on conference strength and schedule strength (namely, Thomas More and Albright -- I'll explain this later), there are 61 teams remaining in the Pool C hunt, including conference leaders who could fall back into Pool C positions.  In the following chart, I have eliminated teams from conferences that will likely not have more than one representative (i.e., Pool A only) -- and those conferences are:  1) IBC, 2) MAC, 3) MWC, 4) MIAA and 5) USAC.  That means that instead of 32 playoff slots below, there remain 27 slots.

In the "Notes" column, I have included an "A" for a team leading its conference, an "A*" for a team tied for its conference lead, a "B*" for Pool B teams that are likely ahead of the pack for consideration (only three of these teams will win Pool B slots, however) -- and whenever an "S" follows (whether or not in parentheses), there is a team not represented on this list that could play "spoiler."  In this case, a spoiler could win the Pool A bid out from under the favorite(s) of that conference.  In many cases, the team that is on this chart would default back to favorite for Pool C status based on the height most teams with "A" or "A*" are at on this chart currently.  The conferences in which this could play out are:  1) ASC, 2) CCIW, 3) HCAC, 4) LL, 5) NCAC, 6) NEFC (less likely), 7) ODAC, and 8 ) SCIAC

The teams are not ranked by any power ranking, except that they are placed in Regional W/L% (reverse order), and then sorted by OWP (reverse order) to provide some relative comparison ability.  However, as I continue to say, the OWP will either have to be abandoned in several instances by the Committee (such as in the Plymouth State case), or we're going to have some ugly debates after Selection Sunday based on how the numbers currently line up.

Summarizing, UP TO 27 of the following teams will reach the NCAA Playoffs, although it is likely that no less than 19 of these teams will be dancing after the final game.  Here is the chart:

My hat is off to you for all of that, but you really need to get off the computer a little.

Also, when AU heads into Growney with 1 loss, and leaves with 2, it will end the discussion of E8 Bids. 8)

I've stated before that I read harry potter, remember I would have been about 12 when Harry Potter started and they are good books... and p.s. it was not I or started the HP conversation

I'll admit my reading of it too.  However, I am only in the middle book 4 as I have just started to pick them up.

They are very well written and exciting... I don't have any issues to what age I am and what I read.

Wow! I agree with Supa on something!

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Just got done watching the SJF/SC game...

Fortune is a beast easily the best lineman SJF has had to date, the kid is just nasty...

SJF did have a Freshman at RT, 6-5 280lber, he played really well...

Stepnick was all over the place making tackles, he has suprising speed for a kid thats 200lbs...

Kramer was his usuall self, very poised and making good decisions the whole game....

Jimmy Smith has a sweet set of hands, he made a couple of great catches in between defenders....

Miranto's 2nd pick was awesome....

Sharpe looked pedestrian, no where near what he looked like from the previous year, and he looks as though he's shot putting the ball when he throws it....

Springfields D = not very good...

pg04

Not really.  Although most of the time I avoid all Harry Potter References, especially now that it's all done so I don't spoil anything.  However, even passing references on TV have spoiled a little bit.

Harry Potter rules.

I am not burned/evacuated down here... but school is canceled for a week! Which is actually much less exciting in grad school than it was in 3rd grade.....

God bless DewCrew, love the columns but I can't get over how Fisher is ranked 7th nationally yet 5th in his east region poll....essentially not converting the one final play against Hartwick has cost Fisher all of those spots.  Grant it Fisher shouldn't have even put themselves into a position to lose to Hartwick but only one other team has been able to stay within 3 touchdowns of Fisher and that was the U of R in a "rivalry" game losing by 16.  I understand ranking undefeated teams ahead of ones who lost, even though I don't agree with it, so I'll concede Alfred, RPI, and Salisbury for this discussion...But Wesley being ranked ahead of Fisher...come on.  They barely beat a 4-3 Del Valley team, barely beat a North Carolina Wesleyan team, were in a close one with a nothing to write home about Widener, and lost to a suddenly mediocre Montclair State team.

Sorry, rants of a Booby.

Annnyhow here are my top 10 East Rankings

I second these but would leave Salisbury as #2.

Current discussion at Fisher is when to have Senior Day. Two years ago it was Alfred and last year it was Springfield both losses - coincidence? It was scheduled for Alfred but the distraction for that game doesn't make sense and why tempt fate?

I say if they can do it this week then do so, leave the alfred game as it is, because no matter what that game is going to be for the e8 championship...so let that be the only distraction that week
