Any predictions on the Hartwick Springfield game, or the IC AU game?

I think Hartwick is too much at home and pulls away late 28-17

And, I think AU comes out fast after last weeks loss, and never lets IC get comfortable and wins 31-13

The point spread looks good, but unless there is mud on the athletic turf in the cage there is no way 'wick's offense only scores 28 and no way their defense can hold a team to 17.

I'm not giving teams yet but that is going to be the score...

'wick has been trying to establish some sort of running game the last 3 weeks, either designed to get some balance or because they were playing weaker teams and wanted to experiment.
Boltus comes out firing from all angles, I predict 400yds passing minimum.

The results of this weekend could be mind blowing.  An IC and Wick win, most likley Hartwick (can you believe it) will be in the drivers seat for the E8 title.  If IC loses, then whoever put them in the Regional top 10 this week must be an IC grad, because they will finish a weak 4th in the E8 with no postseason this year.

The class of the league, SJU may end up being left out even if they beat AU. However, if they don't make the tourney, then there is truley a flaw in the selection process.

This maybe one of the best finishes in years for the E8.  Let's hope being very good conference doesn't hurt in the long run.

Haha.  No possible way that a 9-1 Fisher team gets left out.  Either Pool A or Pool C.

And, I know everybody thinks Hartwick is the AQ bid if they win out, but I'm not so sure yet.  I still don't think any of us really know how to determine the winner in a 3-way tie.  Its so damn complicated, and I just cant understand how Hartwick would have an advantage in terms of Strength of Schedule.  But, we could find out in a couple weeks.

Agreed Fisher is in.  And let's hope they have as good a run in the playoffs this year as they did last year.  The E8 will again be proud.

I also think the keys for Hartwick is the health of Crea.  He missed last week against Norwich with a bad foot.  If he is not 100%, then Hartwick will need a 600+ passing performance from Boltus.  And they still may fall short.

Also, Hartwick's best defender, Flaherty has been out for the past 3 weeks with a bad knee.  If he returns they are a different team on defense.  Without him, its like missing Crea.  If they are both out, SC will do some damage.

Right now Hartwick has the better SOS. I have to believe that AU playing IC/SJF versus
'wick playing SC/UC will reverse that by the end of the year. I don't think there is any argument that AU would get the AQ in a 3-way.

Print it now, Crea will play Saturday. He was dressed and could've played against Norwich, but held out because of field conditions and coaches feeling he could win without him. That thought almost bit him in the a**

Well if there is a 3 way tie in the end that means Fisher will have beaten Alfred giving them 2 losses Hartwick 2 losses and Fisher only with one.  That should help Fisher out in SOS over the other two since you get more points for a win.  But I could be wrong

WICB's coverage of Bombers Football begins at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Robert Schroeder and Evan Heidenrich.  This week's guests include Bomber head coach Mike Welch, linebacker John Scanlon and safety Ryan Terlecki.

At 1 p.m., Michael Polak and Dan Cassavaugh have the call of the game from Butterfield Stadium.

Stay tuned after the game for Bombers Postgame, as we're welcoming calls from both Bombers fans and Saxons fans at (607) 274-3217.  We'll be giving away another pair of Cortaca Jug tickets during a drawing at the end of the show.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the ballgame.

Who is Ithaca playing this week?

Alfred State I think.

So IC is playing its jayvee squad this Saterday? Probably a good move...rest up the varsity for the all-important Cortaca. As for Alfred State, the Pioneers just got railroaded by Lackawanna 84-20 a week after losing 24-6 to Erie. Those two schools are destined to merge......Erie-Lackawanna.  ;)

KS will jump on that train.  +K

Don't forget IC.  If IC beats AU and Fisher beats AU and Wick beats SC, Fisher and Wick tie for the title. And with Wick's win earlier this year at the cage, Wick gets the AQ.  Fisher will still get in with the Pool C nod and IC will get ECAC game.  However, I don't think there is any scenerio that gets IC to the tourney.  Maybe if Wick loses to SC, but SOS may hurt them.

You never know....

I may be wrong, but I don't think SOS takes into acount number of losses. It is only based on the records of your opponents. Since everyone in E8 plays each other all you need to look at is the records of the non-conference opponets.

boobyhasgameyo

I think the E8 uses the old system where you get a certain number of points for wins a certain number for losses.  You get the highest number possible for a road win against a team with a .750 winning percentage, second highest number for a home win against a team with a .750 winning percentage and so on, all the way down....but i could be seriously mistaken, i do not doubt that at all

Frank, correct me if I am wrong, but as of today IthaIcouldonlybeatfisher has not declared themselves eligible for the Toilet Bowl ECAC's....

and on a side note it looks like superman will infact be able to get to Fisher for the Championship game

Nevermind I just checked, the E8 says it uses whatever the NCAA uses for SOS and they aren't using the QOW index anymore so scrap that notion of a point system being used for the E8

All tie breakers should be a steel cage death match between head coaches.  Three way tie?  All three coaches in the cage at once.
