by the way, is there any way to ban redswarm.  I cant stand the sound of his voice in my head.... and he's TYPING.  His arguments make me feel like i'm talking to/reading a deranged sociopath that turns everything around to make himself hear the "truth" in his head.

"Pat, make RedSmite go away!  I don't like what he's saying!
He shouldn't be allowed to talk here anymore.  Make him go away!"

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Frank, correct me if I am wrong, but as of today IthaIcouldonlybeatfisher has not declared themselves eligible for the Toilet Bowl ECAC's....

and on a side note it looks like superman will infact be able to get to Fisher for the Championship game

I don't think Ithaca signs up for the ECAC, but I can't remember. I think we had this discussion last year as well.

The results of this weekend could be mind blowing.  An IC and Wick win, most likley Hartwick (can you believe it) will be in the drivers seat for the E8 title.  If IC loses, then whoever put them in the Regional top 10 this week must be an IC grad, because they will finish a weak 4th in the E8 with no postseason this year.

The class of the league, SJU may end up being left out even if they beat AU. However, if they don't make the tourney, then there is truley a flaw in the selection process.

This maybe one of the best finishes in years for the E8.  Let's hope being very good conference doesn't hurt in the long run.

A one loss SJF HAS to make the pool C bid, and will..........

Haha.  No possible way that a 9-1 Fisher team gets left out.  Either Pool A or Pool C.

And, I know everybody thinks Hartwick is the AQ bid if they win out, but I'm not so sure yet.  I still don't think any of us really know how to determine the winner in a 3-way tie.  Its so damn complicated, and I just cant understand how Hartwick would have an advantage in terms of Strength of Schedule.  But, we could find out in a couple weeks.

E8 Football Tiebreaker

11.1 Conference Champion

11.1.1 The team with the highest wining percentage in conference play will be named
the Empire 8 Champion and will earn the conference's automatic qualifier to the
NCAA Tournament. In the event of a tie, all tied teams will be named co or trichampions
and all schools will receive an Empire 8 Champion crystal. The
following criteria will be used to determine the E8's NCAA automatic qualifier:
(If a tie exists among three or more teams and one of the tied teams is
eliminated by this process, the process will begin anew at No. 1 of the tie-breaking
criteria among the remaining tied teams).

1. Head-to-Head results.

2. Results vs. lowest ranked conference teams (7th, 6th, 5th, etc) based
on final season standings.

3. Results versus common non-league opponents

4. The team's overall strength of schedule index (as determined by the
NCAA procedure used at the completion of the season)

5. Overall record

********************************************************

Nonleague games.....

Hartwick- Husson, Mt. Ida, Becker, WNEC.

SJF- Buff St, Rochester, Kings, Brockport.

Alfred- Thiel, St. Lawrence, Hobart, Husson

********************************************************

Just by looking at those I would rank SOS

1-SJF
2-Alfred
3- (distant 3rd) Hartwick

morning boys---to those that are calling fa91 a bandwagon sox fan--remember one thing- i was a sox fan before most of you were even a twinkle in your dads eye.
just because sox fans are more vocal doesnt make them bandwagon fans.  Sure there are some- but for the love of god you yankee fans have to chill.  It gets old fast!

I think it is more the fans that just came out of the woodwork the last three or four years.  The same type of fans that all you Red Sox fans complained about regarding Yankee fans.  You know the ones with the pink hats.  The same people that will become Mets or Bluejays fans if either of those teams starts winning again.

Agreed-but this is what i have to deal with in my own local paper when it comes to homer yankee bs

SOS is first based on the opponents record:
Therefore as of today.

1. Alfred       15-16
2. Hartwick  12-22
3. SJF           10-22

You also have to factor in the opponents/ opponents record. I don't have time to research this.

See what happens when the Bomber faithful abandon the E8 nation.

As for this weekend

I think the bombers have come alive... IC 48, Alf 34.  Aflreds QB is good though.

other games to care about:

Wick 62, SC 70.

Tessie is the Royal Rooters rally cry
Tessie is the tue they always sung!

I used to really, really like that Dropkick tune from The Departed...that song could fire you up to fight a bear.  Now though I will think of nothing but Papelbon's lunatic dancing and of course, why he was dancing in the first place.  Now if you'll excuse me, I think I need to go buy a Wilson Betemit #14 shirt...the must-have accessory for Yankee fans in 2008.

This is where Simmons would add "I will now light myself on fire."

uuuggghhh - I've been a Dropkicks fan for years, I hate that all of these bandwagon sox fans now a Dropkicks fans too....

Want to know what's funny, if you're a Yanks fan, it's normal & that's what you were supposed to do since birth - nobody says a word.

If you choose to become a Sox fan however, ooooh boy, you must be a bandwagon fan now. Nobody was calling out sox fans before 2004.

tags - I'm a Mets fan, first of all so thats not bitterness coming from a Yankee fan.  Second, I am not talking about people who have been fans for a long time.  I'm talking about those who only care about the Sox since 2004.  They know nothing other than what happens at Fenway yet they will argue points until they are blue in the face but can't name any baseball players other than the 25 Red Sox and some famous yankees.  These are the "baseball" fans and the now Dropkick fans that annoy me.

FA 91 - I was refering to bandwagon fans (see above).  No one said anything about you being one.  I think the only place you were mentioned was as a long time Red Sox fan.

Again, I am a met fan...this has absolutely nothing to do with the Yankees.

Also - "some" bandwagon fans?  Really?  Some?  I would use a better adjective like tons, hoards, millions, scores, etc.

fisheralum91

real- understood.

i just hate getting lumped in with the johnny come latelys.

as for the dropkick murphys ---they were in utica this summer--------couldnt make the show- but heard that it was great--DIDNT PLAY TESSIE THOUGH!!
