I don't think they play Tessie too many places outside of Boston.  Saw them at Hammerstein here in NY last year and they (obv) didn't play it but it was a rediculous show.

You guys get a lot of great shows in Utica at the Brewery, right?  Doesn't MOE play there a lot in the Summer?

fisheralum91

Yeah- the brewery gets some good acts--MOE comes back because the members are all from the area. I went to hs with Al Schneer and Chuck Garvey.
Glad theyare doing so well!
During the summer the brewery has a weekly event on thursday nights ( Saranac Thursdays) and they have a thousand or so plus or minus that show for the eve.

And how do you know if Red sox fans are bandwagon fans?  Theve sold out every frickin game over the last 15 years.  Those are good fans.

I would think a bandwagon fan is someone who knows every player in the league but wont spend a few hundred bucks a year to go to a game for their favorite team.  So what if Sox fans only know what happens with the sox fans.  That is a real fan right there.  At least not a band wagon fan.

I think realistic is trying to think of the term "homer" instead of "bandwagoner"

Pep - I know you haven't liked the direction the board is headed, but I thought you'd appreciate this Ithacan Article especially with the big game at Butterfield this weekend.

Maybe you and the Pepband could set up some pregame cadences.

Lazy, been-done-before ideas that were dumb the first time they were written about.  Agree here FA91.  I've seen the same sort of stuff written about the Cubs: "oh it just doesn't seem RIGHT if the Cubs win, they're supposed to LOSE, that's just how it's supposed to BE!"  Yeah, I'm sure the fans value their, uh, "identity" more than actually winning a title.

Watch, though, if the Cubs ever win the WS...the onslaught of yuppie bandwagoners is going to make Boston's Pink Hat Brigade look like a dwindling collection of crusty old lifers.

This really isn't your best argument JU.  A sellout at Fenway is Apples to Oranges to any other ballpark in the country because of the limited seating.

caz---when i opened the paper that day i started to fume!
couldnt believe it.
was going to write a nastygram to him- but figured that would become more fodder for the goof!

Then look at other ballparks in the country and see how many games have had less than 35,000 fans.

And if Fenway had 40K, 45K, 50K.......who knows how many times they still would have sold out.....

JQV

Without looking it up, I believe Cleveland holds the record for consecutive sellouts.  The streak started when they opened the Jake.

Thats fine... I truly was not trying to ruffle any feathers.  There are a ton of great, long time Sox fans out there.  However there have been a ton of bandwagon fans recently and many (most) of them are very annoying.  That was all I was saying.

fisheralum91

sheesh- ok- ill let you guys duke it out- and let me know when you are done---ill be back on tomorrow :P

Pep, citing a desire to disassociate himself from the sub-standard posting that he believes has devalued the E8 Nation Post Patterns, hereby resigns as chairman of the E8 Nation. AUPepBand must tend to more important matters and, quite frankly, is not enamored with recent trends on the E8 boards...

Good night, gentlemen.....and Superman57.

I am actually with Pep.  I think everything that can be said about the polls and their bases has been said.

Pep, predictions for Saterday?  Any key injuries on the AU side?

The Saxons have been very fortunate with injuries so far this season with the exception of Josh Rammacher who broke his arm against Fisher last year and then broke a couple bones in his hand/wrist at Thiel after rehabbing.  He has been punting for the past 3 weeks and may see some time in the secondary.

As for a prediction, I think this game is a toss up so the pep band is going to have to be strong to make our 7 points stand up.  That could be tough since we're only travelling 6 as of this morning.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Superman would like to announce his interest in running for E8 Chairman....considering the recent trend of the E8pp they need someone who can't spell has bad grammer and has karma lower then -100

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
