Honestly, I don't know that it really matters if Crea plays or not.  SC's secondary is so bad, you could easily put up 50 points without every running the football.  That game is going to be like a pickup game in the neighborhood.  First team to not score loses.

Isn't he a key threat in the passing game also though? He splits out quite a bit doesn't he?

I think it hurts 'Wick if he's out.

Yea he is a key threat from everywhere... run, pass, kick returns.  He is almost as versatile as Sharpe!  But he cant throw to himself

Nice. +k.  I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't valuable.  I was pointing more to the fact that you don't neccesarily need your A receivers to beat SC's secondary.  Sorry for the inexact statement.

Yea I see what you're sayin and i hope that holds true... My comment stems from everyone thinking and i agree that Hartwick will have to score alot to win... and when he is in the line up they are much more explosive... which is not news to anyone.  I'm going to be bummed if he doesnt play.. its a big game for Hartwick and I just hope they are at full strength

IMO if Crea does not play, Springfield wins...

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Pep just called the Ithaca SID to make arrangements for admission for the band. It went something like this,
MW: "Is this THE AUPepBand?"
Pep: "Indeed it is, this is the advisor of the AU Pep Band who posts on D3football."
MW: "Wow, it certainly is a pleasure speaking with you."

Wow, Pep didn't know that he was a media celebrity because of his posting on E8Nation. Incredible.

Obviously, SC is going to get their points no matter who they are playing.  Out of curiosity, how has Hartwick's defense been against the run this season.  I actually don't know anything about them because I didn't listen to the IC game (because I assumed it was a foregone conclusion).  If they are pretty good against the run, and pretty deep at LB and S, then they should have some success against SC.

For the record, I'm fine with Super...He and I have been dishing it for over a year -- and he knows I'm just busting his balls about his spelling and grammar (well, it IS bad, no doubt -- but asking him to fix it is like telling the wall not to stand there...it just won't happen short of a big ax).

RS, you're taking things way too personally -- when you come in and insult some folks, it's like the guy from another fraternity coming in and trying to boss around the other fraternity's pledges.  Yeah, we may all be in the same system, but we don't necessary trust the other house's intentions right off the bat.  Not many people understand the tone of your messages, so that's why Super jumped at you after the mother reference.  Karma is really a metaphor on here for respect -- and once you gain enough karma, people generally take you as "one of the guys dishing on it" a lot more easily.

These boards are a bit of a subculture, whether you like it or not.  This is how we roll - all are invited, but there is a trust factor for each new entrant that gets built over time.

P.S. -- Don't you guys have a better use for your poll question?  All I'm trying to do is help Super and RS to get less serious and spiteful here.
Of all the incredible posts on thi topic...this one hits the nail on the head...hopefully the nail was on RS's head when Frank hit it though....oops...did I say that? ;)

Pep - you should make a point of meeting Mike, he's a great guy.  Even if he did make it a habit of hiring guys like Jose.

Everyone headed to Butterfield tomorrow, enjoy the game.  I'll be watching online...should be a good one.

Everyone knows who the commish of the E8 is!

The MW: you speak of is a great guy.  I'd love to see him running around Butterfield in a yellow shirt.

As for the parking lot this weekend I checked into the mishaps of the last few weeks and apparently we have another for saterday.  It is parent/sibling weekend and everyone is allowed to park wherever they want.  Which, in turn, means the FDC lot has limited space.  If that stupid girly student cop turns Dubbz away again when Dubbz and Lady Dubbz can clearly see 6-9 open spots in the lot Dubbz is stopping traffic, walking over to said girly student cop, Beep slapping her (lady dubbz will probably join me), and then driving into the Cerrache lot very salty.

Go Bombers!

Telling SIDs I'm "THE Frank Rossi" has its benefits, too.  They always put out their hand...although it's generally clenched and a little higher than handshake level.  Odd.  :)

In the aftermath of the Debacle at Da Boz and in losing internet service at home last weekend, Pep neglected to mention his delight in speaking with Julio Fuentes at halftime of the game.

Julio was a freshman dormmate of the band's current president so Pep and the Prez paid him a visit in the parking lot upon Julio's arrival. He spent the second half of the game on the AU sidelines. Pep hopes to see Julio at the library next semester as his current plans are to return to campus to continue his studies in the spring. Meanwhile, here's the link to an Alfredfootball.com tribute to one incredible Saxon Warrior:

AU's season reminds me alot of my senior season in '95...we started 6-0 and were highly ranked in the East (4th i think).  We had some decent wins against Catholic and Alfred but the next three in order were Brockport, RPI and Buff State.  All three beat us in a row the year before when we were 4-2.  We lost on a last second kick-off return to 'Port, got beat fairly soundly by RPI and then with still an outside shot at the NCAA tourney on the line we lost to a nationally ranked Buff St. team.  Ended up 7-3 finishing with a win against Thiel.

AU is once again running into the same three game stretch they do every year at this time.  As you lose one, the pressure mounts and you lose the next and then you feel your season is shot and have one more to go against SJF.  AU must stop that bleeding this week at Butterfield.  If they dont, it will be awfully tough to muster up the adrenaline in a game at SJF that they just a couple weeks earlier were no doubt circling as the culmination of an undefeated season.

This is actually only the second season with these final three games and last year Alfred dropped the game against Hobart only to come back and beat Ithaca which set up a "playoff" game between the Saxons and Cardinals for a spot in the NCAAs.  Hopefully the second act can repeat this year to set up another showdown between Alfred and Fisher.

Pep, great post about my former boss.  +k.

Good news about Julio too.

Have fun at the Friendly Confines Saterday.  Go Bombers.
