AU is once again running into the same three game stretch they do every year at this time.  As you lose one, the pressure mounts and you lose the next and then you feel your season is shot and have one more to go against SJF.

This is actually only the second season with these final three games and last year Alfred dropped the game against Hobart only to come back and beat Ithaca which set up a "playoff" game between the Saxons and Cardinals for a spot in the NCAAs.  Hopefully the second act can repeat this year to set up another showdown between Alfred and Fisher.
I thought AU played 'Bart and IC in 2005 leading up to AU's victory at Growney to end SJF's tourney bid...?

In the aftermath of the Debacle at Da Boz and in losing internet service at home last weekend, Pep neglected to mention his delight in speaking with Julio Fuentes at halftime of the game.

Julio was a freshman dormmate of the band's current president so Pep and the Prez paid him a visit in the parking lot upon Julio's arrival. He spent the second half of the game on the AU sidelines. Pep hopes to see Julio at the library next semester as his current plans are to return to campus to continue his studies in the spring. Meanwhile, here's the link to an Alfredfootball.com tribute to one incredible Saxon Warrior:

On Saxon Warriors!

Don't leave us hanging, Pep--how is Julio's recovery coming?  Is his mood good?

While Hobart has DecaStomped Alfred, the rivalry was on hiatus in 2004-05.  In those years Grove City preceded the Ithaca/Fisher finish and during the first two years of the E8 Alfred started with Fisher and Ithaca.

In regards to the parking issues in Bomberland, I remember last year a certain...select...vehicle...parking in its designated spot the night before...and never causing a problem.  It was my understanding (as explained by NSRB, if I'm not mistaken) that the reason for the police presence at the gate was because an IC parent complained when she showed up half an hour late for the fisher game and couldn't find a spot, mostly because of the far-too-many fisher fans in the home tailgate lot and not because of a lowly old green pickup.  Regardless, some creativity will be in order.

Dudes, it's not like I ever pay parking tickets anyways.  I could wallpaper my room in them.

Pep, I heard from MW that your phone call was the most honored he'd felt since getting an e-mail from the original Ooga Booga guy.

Frank I agree with what you say about the pecking order around here... but I don't know if I'd use karma as a judge. Most of the big boys have big karma, but some very insightful people don't (Note: I am NOT including myself in that latter group.)

Quote from: BoSox0322 on November 02, 2007, 11:43:00 AMYea I see what you're sayin and i hope that holds true... My comment stems from everyone thinking and i agree that Hartwick will have to score alot to win... and when he is in the line up they are much more explosive... which is not news to anyone.  I'm going to be bummed if he doesnt play.. its a big game for Hartwick and I just hope they are at full strength

Obviously, SC is going to get their points no matter who they are playing.  Out of curiosity, how has Hartwick's defense been against the run this season.  I actually don't know anything about them because I didn't listen to the IC game (because I assumed it was a foregone conclusion).  If they are pretty good against the run, and pretty deep at LB and S, then they should have some success against SC.

Defense has been spotty but they have a big injury at LB right now... there top defensive player OLB Flaherty is out

And since Clark Kent was a newspaper man by day, does that mean you're going to be a spelling and grammar freak now?

I have to say I got a kick out of the caption under the A-Rod picture.

A LT at work asked me what I thought of him.  I replied, "he will go into the Hall of Fame as a very well-traveled All-Star who was loyal to himself."

Who would you rather be - Derek Jeter, four rings, Yankee Captain, recognized leader, played entire career (at least to date) for the same team; or A-Rod, gun for hire?

Pity, I thought Yankee pinstripes may have meant more to him.  Guess not.

Remember, the Yankees won the World Series with Scott Brosius as their third baseman.  Brosius - not typically a household name.

Congrats to the Red Sox - but always - Go Yankees!
