I wonder what Alfred's schedule looks like for next year?  They need to rid themselves of that 3 game stretch to end the season.  Spread the difficulty out a little bit.  Hobart, Ithaca, Fisher must be the toughest end to the season for any team in the country.
St. John Fisher College...King of the East

In response to the size of the Fisher team... yes they are a massive bunch. I saw them first hand last year at the Springfield playoff game.  Like many players in todays college football I thought they were a bit over the top with the weight, appearing unhealthy from the physiology perspective.
I fully understand the weight yields additional power in the game of football but at what price to the kids heart??
It seams like the Mount Union lineman are taller than the Fisher group but there is no debating the sheer power of the Fisher team.  The Ithaca championship teams were of a completely different type on the Oline.
Perhaps it is interesting that as Ithaca has gone from the option game of the 80's to the power game in the 90's and today their O Lines have become in the mold of their competitions, big and powerful.  But there has been no champion in the East since the Bombers have no option game.
The debate is does the rest of D III try to beat MU at the size game?

Springfield is trying still.

And look at Nebraska.  You just dont see that many great option teams at the highest levels now.

I think it's a great thing that a team like Hartwick has picked it up ..... I still don't think 'Wick is that good, and would bow out in the first round.

Tags, you must be a politician because I've never seen anyone stradle a fence better. Every time you post about Hartwick you give them credit in the first paragraph and then take it away in the second.
You and alot of others can go right on underestimating the Hawks, that is one of the things that fuels a team like them.
As for the future you got no clue. Hartwick has their whole O-line, QB and top receiver coming back next year, you may not like it or agree with it but Hartwick will be one of the favorites in E8 next year.

dude fact check...Ithaca was never a top ten team...and Fisher did not come out of nowhere in 2004 as in 2003 they stayed with every team they played and monkey stomped Cortland in the ECAC's

Johnny agreed the best shot that Ithaca has is for Union to take the LL...because if UofR takes the LL then RPI would have won and therefore I think RPI gets that spot before Ithaca...but you never know...all I know is that Fisher needs to win

GO FISHER...SAXONS SUCK

and yanks I think RedSwarm was a "rocket scientist"

Thats a fact and I hope your comment doesn't bring him back. My head still hurts from reading his post.

I dont care who they have back next year, but expect a fury like youve never seen when they come to Butterfield next year.  No one is going to overlook them and I say they lose 4 games in the league next year.

Not saying SJF came out of nowhere in 2004...but generally a team gets respect for getting to the big dance...not making the ECAC's.  By the way...wasn't the score like 47-37...hardly a monkey stomp.

And according to "Daddy Dew Crew", who ranks the regional teams, IC was #8 in the east last week.  By rankings, I was only referring to regional rankings...not national...for that I apologize.  I am curious to see where he will rankteams this week.  I tell you what...can anyone find any other team in the east that has beaten as many teams with a record OVER .500 as 'Wick, who has 3 (IC, SJF, and Husson)?  I beleive if SJF wins this weekend, they would have 3 (IC, Rochester, and then Alfred).  IC only has has one victory over a team with a record above .500 in Alfred.

RedSwarm is an idiot...thank god he left the forum...hopefully he doesn't come back.

Husson doesnt count.

And has there ever been a team thats lost to a NEFC team nonleague and made the playoffs?

Point is:  Who cares.  Everyone needs to get the balance bars out of their unitards and hope the NCAA gods shine on the bombers.

That WNEC loss was a long time ago.  First game of the year.  Curious...when you bring up the 'Wick loss to IC and Fisher, it becomes "that was a long time ago, and we are playing way better now."  WNEC was a horrible, horrible loss.  Never should have happened.  But I give credit...'Wick got their act together and came out and did something that no one has ever done after that...beat IC and SJF in the same year.

You tell me where I bring up the Wick loss being "a long time ago".

Im just saying that Im not going to give Hartwick the team of the year award because they won two close games at home.  2 plays either way and we wouldnt even be talking about Hartwick this year.  Im not saying they are a bad team.  But through the whole season, it appears that they arent heads and shoulders above IC and SJF.

But they are above them in the eyes of the NCAA's period

WICK:  wow, beat SJF, IC and SC this year....bet a dollar on that next year in   Vegas....but really, where is the Curry of the E8 going in the play-offs?
bitter

Maybe, but it's pretty accurate.

pretty pathetic...

...it wasn't that long ago...I would say about 5 years ago...that Fisher was the Curry of the E8.

[/quote]
Yanks99:  In a subsequent post, you tell me to take it easy b/c you only "throw facts out there"; You also state that you understand who Curry is...   If you understand who Curry is, then why do state that SJF was the Curry of the E8 5 years ago?   Is it a fact that SJF was the Curry of the E8 5 years ago?

And I did not ask you to re-read 1847 pages of posts, and  although I know it made your post sound better, the truth is that I asked you to simply re-read the "past few pages" to see that I have been giving 'Wick their credit where it is due.

I like 'Wick and I am happy for them and their fans.  It is nice to be the underdog that nobody wants to give credit to.  Just please do not twist my posts to try and make me look like the bad guy so you have something to support what you are trying to get across.

And be honest, SJF would monkey stomp you in the NCAA's......Oooooh baby.......gotta get after the 'Wick.

Does Hartwick still give every incomming freshman a new laptop?

Actually with the bars in that town I think it's a lapdance.

I'm not going to get into it with Fisher faithful, because I'm a HUGE SJF fan this week. I've just got a problem with all the past/future talk. Lets talk about the here and now and any discussion about who gets into the NCAA's has to revolve around games played this year and how those games relate to the NCAA's criteria.

Nebraska stopped running the option when Callahan took over, he is trying to run the west coast offense, it is mostly offensive.

It's b/c Hartwick deserves a tip of the cap for beating Fisher & IC, and I recognize that. Still can't buy into them though.

'Tis what it is.
