If SJF and Ithaca win then SJF gets the AQ and IC will get the pool C.  Granted this is if the committee decides the E8 is worthy of 2 spots.  the LL is just as screwed up as the E8 so who knows which conference they will go to for a C bid.

IC would get in ahead of Wick (if SJF wins)?  Why would they get in ahead of a team that beat them?

Well, I think it is because after the AQ has been decided they look at the record, 8-2.  The loss to Hartwick was in Hartwick, Fisher lot to them too which makes it more credible for IC having their only other loss being to Fisher.  IC is streaking right now beating a very good Alfred team by 20 and if they beat Cortland handedly than it is going to be tough to over look them.  Their schedule was stronger than Hartwicks.  Hartwick closes out the year against 1-7 Utica after struggling against Springfield.  Springfield being a team that got monkey stomped by SJF, Alf, & IC.  I just can not see Hartwick getting the nod over the bombers after SJF gets the AQ.

Question for Pat or someone else at D3.com. One of the primary criteria in the NCAA selection process is 'record versus regionally ranked teams'. Is the final regional rankings or the rankings at the time of the game?

It is the final regional rankings which are done before the teams are selected and not released.

Just checking in.  I'm still bummed, but more so now after reading all those pages of drivel.

Some thoughts from Lt. Chairman Kaz00:
-Folks need to learn how to edit quotes.  Once it's screwed up the next 20 posts are impossible to read.
-If the top of the E8 has 4 teams at 8-2, Hartwick gets the first shot at a Pool C.  They have H2H over Fisher and Ithaca which would also be 2 regionally ranked wins.  That's also why FA05 wants UofR to get 'spect since it would even that tie-breaker criterion.
-Fisher -10 vs. Alfred.

Yeah.  Before this weekend, I thought Hobart was basically a lock for a pool C with an 8-2 finish (if they dont get the AQ).  But, more and more I think Ithaca might grab the final Pool C bid if they beat Cortland.  I think they're resume will be stronger than Hobarts.

I'm very surprised that Wick is getting little respect.  It is in my opinion that if you beat someone head to head, regardless if you believe it was a fluke or not, the team that won should get in first.

How is looking at the NCAA's selection criteria a loophole. I've already said on here that I believe win or lose SJF is in ahead of 'wick and a higher seed. Nothing wrong with looking at the actual criteria though.

I think you're forgetting that if SJF wins, and Wick beats Utica, then Wick gets the AQ.  SJF will then grab a pool C. 
Ithaca fans should be rooting for SJF to win, and for Utica to beat Wick.  That would give IC the best chance for a pool C.  Also IC fans should be rooting for Hobart to beat U of R, and for Union to defeat RPI.  This would give Hobart the AQ in the LL and kill RPI for a pool C.

Alf really needs to look into the scheduling problems they have in odd years.  Playing 3 contenders on the road late in the season doesn't seem to be a formula for success.

I've said it before, based on where we have been we would be very happy with an ECAC bowl. That doesn't mean we are giving up on the NCAA's

Sarge, I believe you are mistaking "opinion" for "respect".  Nobody is disrespecting 'Wick (unless it is blatant sarcasm or in jest) they are just opining that 'Wick, despite their excellent season, is still a substantial underdog.  The good thing for 'Wick though, is that they have a solid chance to get the AQ, and prove that there reg. season is legit.  I hope they get the AQ and play tough in the NCAA's.  It would be good for the E8.

It is ironic that the SJF posters are having to defend the 'Wickers' claims of respect....that was 'us' with the IC posters a short few seasons ago.  I sure hope that 'Wick does not do to us we now do to IC...

Trust me we are. When we heard the final score from Ithaca on Saturday I tried to get a "Lets go Fisher " cheer started in the stands.
