And since Jose Q brought it up a couple days ago, I just want to mention again that the 2004 Bombers were the best team I've seen on South Hill.  While I'd love for us to somehow sneak in this year, that team was truly one that could compete for a national championship, which we haven't had since.

An offense that could move at will, and a solid, solid defense.  A double overtime loss on the road against Fisher on brutal interception call, and a one point loss in the slop on the road to a decent Brockport team.  I'm still not over what could have been...

Absolutely.

Talk about a team that got stronger as the year went on.  I have avoided considering what might have been with that team because it is too painful.  Definitely better than either of the East Region finalists of their era.  (Although, the 2001 team would have been fun to watch in the playoffs with BY).

so true.  I don't think that team really got all of the credit they deserved for doing all that on the road with a back up QB and RB.

Pepband,
It was good seeing you this weekend.  The FDC will indeed be prepared next time with a variety pack of soda-pop for the Pep Band.   It was too bad you couldn't stay around for Mrs. Lumpies chowda!  holy crap, it was like a party in my mouth and all my taste buds were invited!  Needless to say Dubbz was again impressed with the Commish's knowledge of AU and IC football.  Next time we'll plan an early arrival to hear some "Yogi" (Pepband) stories.

Lucky for you NSRB was indeed NSRB. when he was "Rowdy" you may have taken him to "band camp" and shown him how to use a flute.

Dubz - even though I should hold a grudge over the slamming of the townies of cortland over on the Cortaca board, I can't help but give a post like that +K.

The pleasure was Pep's. There was a day when Pep would not dare walk into a group of fans from the opposition prior to a game. Post Patterns has changed that. It's great fun. When Pep first heard the "Overrated" cheer coming from FDC late in the game, Pep reminded himself that he need not be offended since he's come to realize (win or lose) that the rankings mean little or nothing as a team is only as good as its next game.

Ok so I was thinking that game that all the playoffs hinge on should be bet on... So I am going to make a bet to Pep, Kazoo and Saxon...and anyone else who might be there and willing to get in on this bet...

so the losers have to buy the winners plates after the game....

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Pep never has been a gambling man. Heck, Pep doesn't even buy lottery tickets, which he sees as "investments for the mathematically challenged."

see you boys at the game!!

Unfortunately, 82 wont be able to make it this weekend as Mrs. 82 is awaiting delivery of twin girls any day now...Well I am fortunate for that of course, but I will be on edge Saterday, not being present at such a big game.  I will be tuning in to AM1280, where one of my former teammates and good friend is the 'Color' commentator for all the SJF games.

Pep: we met last year when you and Kaz came up for the Rowan play-off game...was hoping to meet up with you again for this big game...maybe next year.  Good luck this weekend...

SJF posters: enjoy the big game....be loud....bring home the E8 and on to the NCAA's....let's take care of some unfinished 4th quarter business in Alliance this year!!!

Best of luck to you and the Mrs....and delivery of the twins! Congrats on that! Hope everyone comes out okay. Perhaps this means double daddy duty...Pep may not see you at a game for several years!

FA91, if I do not catch up with ya at a play-off game this year (we will make the play-offs ;)), we gotta get together next year...a few of us alum from your era go out for a cigar or two after the UR game every year...

SJFF82

...and there is certainly no reason (other than twins at home) not to go out after a play-off victory...
