I am telling you that your E8 champ gave up 70 points on the seasons last game...
Stop drinking the koolade.

70 points to Utica and 42 to WNEC....
It sounds like Hartwick would struggle v the entire BOYD division in the NEFC.
You can say what you want but
110 points surrendered to two horrible teams is outrageous.

DONE!!!!

And I am not leaving.

So what is your point here?  You think Hartwick is no good?  Or you think somehow the BOYD division in the NEFC is stronger than the Empire 8?

Wow, what a weekend.  Thanks to maxpower for the continuous Cortaca text updates while I was at a wedding.

Been looking at pictures of the game online today.  Here is my favorite so far:

Looks like the FDC has sure grown.

On to Alliance.  This should be an interesting week.

My point is there are other teams in the east that should get a shot.
Three from the E8 is outrageous.

It should be two, Hartwick (AQ) and STJohn Fisher.

The E8 champion is not bullet proof in any argument that has merit with any one with a clear head.

70 plus points in the games final season shoud have done IC in.

What? IC loses to Hartwick, who then, sometime later in the season, plays a crappy game that they win, so, that hurts IC's chances? I see the logic here, but do you really think the committee can consider stuff like this for EVERY team? Why don't we just total up the point differentials and do the playoffs based on that?

Well, I've finally gotten the courage up to come back to Post Patterns.  You can call me Ichabod because "The glory has departed from Israel Mayberry, for the ark of God Empire 8 Championship has been captured."

I haven't read any posts since Friday afternoon, but before I catch up I want to point out that this is the second year in a row that Alfred's 3 loses came to teams that all made the NCAAs.  At least this year the Saxons beat a team that made the tourney

Having seen half of the East playoff teams play this season I think that Fisher, Hobart and Ithaca are all equally talented teams with Hartwick a notch below.  I think that the Saxons have the same talent level as those first three, but were unable to execute (mostly on offense) these past three weeks.  To me that does not bode well for Fisher since I thought Alfred was just as good as Hobart and Springfield last year, but that Fisher was definitively superior.

I think there should be 3 really close games next week and hopefully Ithaca can keep it close with Mt. Union.  Remember Bombers, they have to mentally travel to the East Region bracket, so that negates any home field advantage!  Fisher, Wick and Ithaca represent the E8 proudly and move on to the regional semis.

You do realize it was HARTWICK that gave up 70 points, not Ithaca, right? Or am I giving you too much credit?

Oh, and how about "season's final game", not "game's final season."

mel

Again, No disrespect to the Bombers but the E8 with its champion being Hartwick should have only gotten two spot.  I realize that ST John Fisher played MUC tough but they are in and the #2 team in the E8.
But the Bombers lost to both, sorry.
So Montclair with its 8 - 2 record is not scratching its head?
The whole idea of the AQ years ago was inclusion.  Tying up 3 of 8 slots to one league, which has not produced a national champion since 1991 is over the top.
Now with the undisputed info on Hartwick, once again 110 points allowed in two games,  and all I do not see how the e8 is being viewed as a league worthy of two pool c bids.
Usually one pool c bid is confirmation of the strength of the league.

And as for the poster who said I know nothing, on this discussion only the late Bob Deming and a sort of others are more informed.

It is about inclusion in the new style NCAA tourny.

What a load of bunk...
The E8 champion got hammered by WNEC 42-21 in week one.
That is the same WNEC that finished 3-7.
If I am Plymouth or CGA I am po'ed.  The NEFC needs to stop playing its championship game.
And of course Curry needs to beat Hartwick next weekend.

Please.  Your NEFC has the best chance it has ever had to be competitive in a playoff game, at home against a suspect defense that has yet to put together a complete game on the road.  If Curry doesn't beat Hartwick the NEFC should just disband since they'll obviously never win one.  Also, it's pretty obvious Hartwick is the E8's 3rd best team right now and would not have made it but for the auto-bid (not a shot at 'Wick fans, but you guys have to know that much is true right now).  I'd be surprised if Curry could hang with Fisher or IC.

thats one of the craziest things i have ever heard.  They would not have made it, if they didnt win the automatic bid...

the red sox also would not have won the world sweries if they didnt in 4 games.
They were clearly the best team in the E8, maybe not the most well rounded but they did it on the field leaving them in first place, not third.

I'm going to say it early and often this week.  The East Region PPs have achieved a large level of mutual respect over the last three years.  Whether or not we think Ithaca has a real shot against Mount Union, the issue here is to promote healthy competition and further respect.  That's how RPI and St. John's fans have become such friends since 2003 -- and how SJF and Mount Union fans have shared some good tidings since 2006.

Long story, short...Trash talking here serves no purpose.  Play a great game Saturday, Ithaca and Mount Union -- and make some friendships that will span time and Division III.

Hartwick didnt play well.  I think they were nervous.  They arent used to being in that positon... with that being said... they did show alot character  to end up winning that mess of a game.  70 points... in 4 ot's ... i know its still not good but you seem caught up on this point.
I guess you havent followed much of IC's season... they lost two early and have been rolling since... so you think Plymouth state and Coast Guard should go in over IC?

mel

I think Plymouth has a serious gripe.. their only loss it to 11-0 league champion.
There is no trash talking here Frank.  This is just good discussion.

We'll see how legitimate your argument is when the Hartwick / Curry game is over. If the weakest of the three E8 teams in the tourney monkey stomps your best, you probably don't have much of an argument at all.

Mel stop it, you're too cute.
