I am glad the E8 got three teams into the tournament, however, I think that they kind of got a raw deal. IC has to go to MUC. You have to play them sometime, but you hate to have to.

Hartwick has to go to Curry, who is probably not as good as Hobart, or RPI, but still an undefeated team on the road.

Fisher the 2 seed has to play Hobart the 5 seed? A game that the bart fans can all make the drive to, against a team that has won 7 games in a row, and has a lot of similar opponents to watch film against and all that.

Tough draw for every team in the conference. I hope they can all win at least the first round games but I don't think it is at all possible.
Early prediction, Fisher beats Hobart by a score or two, Hartwick loses in overtime, and IC loses by 100 to MUC. I hope IC can at least score on them, no one else has been able to this season.

Come on homer....only 8 teams in the bracket....the E8 has to play SOMEONE!!  Seems like you would be able to b!tch about a TCNJ or RPI matchup also.  I'm actually pulling for everyone BUT Fisher because they are playing a LL team.

After watching Ithaca absolutely own Cortland, I have no doubt that they will take care of Mt. Union.  I predict a 21-7 victory by Ithaca.

This is a joke, right? Mount is averaging 54.2 points per game, and giving up 2.4.  The first team defense has yet to give up a touchdown, but Ithaca is going to score 21.  The offense has yet to be held under 35 points, but Ithaca is going to hold them to 7.  The defense has scored more points (34) than they've given up (24), but you're right, Ithaca is going to dominate them.

How, exactly, is Ithaca, who has lost two games, and whose defense has allowed 17 ppg to teams not named Mount Union, going to stop Mount Union?

Have you been following Division III football for the last...oh, 14 years?

relax dude.  He's fired up over a huge rivalry win and a chance to do something in the playoffs.  Everyone know MUC, chill out and let us enjoy a week in which we get to play the best that's ever been.

In my opinion this has to be MUC's worst nightmare....they are having to face probably the best 8 seed the playoffs...Ithaca is no 8 seed

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I agree.  Ithaca has been playing very well.  Definately a tough first round draw for MUC.

I mean IC is no pushover, like some of the other first round games that MUC has gotten...this could be a sign that MUC in fact is a bad team and not the almighty g-ds that they are being made out to be

yeah, let's not get crazy here...

Pat, great job as always on the show today.  I know I (we) are biased, but I thought what you offered compared to the guy that did D-II was above and beyond.

I completely agree Tecmo. Everyone reading these should know that we firmly believe IC will head into Alliance and take care of business without much trouble.

honestly Pat, couldn't you kind of kick him under the table each time he went over his allowed amount of
"Ya, they've got some tough sledding"

As a quick follow up to raiderpa's excellent post...

I would 100% concur with the advice to fly into Akron/Canton if possible.  In the event that any folks do so, I would recommend the new Hilton Garden Inn right by the airport.  It has easy access to I-77 and the aforementioned Belden Village area restaurants.  Here's the html...

Safe travels to any Bombers making the trip.  Looking forward to a great game.

I believe Ithaca will surprise Mt Union.  Will anyone from the FDC be making the trip?

Thanks, I appreciate it. But I have an advantage in that I live and breathe this stuff. The D-II guy was an ESPN in-house analyst.

LOL -- don't think I didn't notice. Because every time I heard him say that I thought, "there's no snow in those highlights."

Thanks boobyhasgameyo.  I use Scrubs references as a test.  I'm just glad someone got it.

p.s. It was a tough call between that and Dr. Jan Itor.  Can't go wrong either way.
