Thanks again for the insight hscoach.

Speaking for myself, I see 62-0 scores, and I think, "OMG, HOW CAN WE COMPETE WITH THAT?  EVERYONE SAYS THE OAC IS AWESOME, AND MUC IS KILLING THEM!"

And being that I don't go on the OAC boards ever, I wouldn't know that graduation, injuries, etc have taken their toll on the rest of the OAC, and that this Saterday, maybe for the first time this year, MUC will play someone that can play with them.  No disrespect to the OAC, this year has just been a down year.

Is this indicative of the OAC for the past 10 years?  No, but the past 10 years aren't relevant to Saterday.

I appreciate the background on this year's OAC, gives a bit of history that wouldn't have been there otherwise!

GO BOMBERS:  No problem.  I'm just glad someone over here wants to actually talk FOOTBALL.

Here's a dumb question for you.  Why do so many of the East Region posters refer to themselves in the 3rd person?  Is that an East Coast thing?  Or am I just old and out of touch?
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

It's actually one of the guiding principles of the Liberty League Post Patterns (aka LLPP).  It's been adopted by other boards here in the East.  Please refer to the WikiLLPedia thread below so you can catch up on our Eastern idiosyncrasies.

In the Liberty League, it just kinda took off and became law.  Last year they spent a week posting using only midevil language.

Yes, quite correct my young squire.  The tomfoolery hath doth been quite prescient since ye days of olden time.

I'm growing tired of the talk myself.

RE: LLPP 3rd person requirement

If you do go to the LLPP, Inc ... please use third person. Even most of us in the E8 Nation have embraced it. It's just how they roll...

I'm not saying that the teams might as well not show up, anything can happen.  My problem is that while everyone seems to think that I am disrepecting IC, the E8, the entire state of New York, and all college football players everywhere by saying that Mount is going to beat Ithaca soundly, no one thinks the 26 people who voted that Ithaca would beat Mount Union are disrespecting the Raiders.

For about the third time, I'm not saying you can't root for your team against Mount Union, hell, I do it every year, but to attempt to discredit MUC's stats by calling the conference weak, or to say that Mount won't win by more than 30 might be a little bit of a stretch.

Fisheralum- I'm not a Mount fan, so I don't know how that would feel.

Well - I think that there was only one or two people calling the OAC weak, and I certainly wasnt' one of them.  As for "the east" thinking that MUC won't win by 30 or more, I don't think thats that crazy.  You can keep arguing this point but I think it's pretty dead.

And if you are really concerned about the poll at the top of the page, then you are crazy.  That might as well read "what school/region are you affiliated with?"  I would assume if Pat posted the results it would be all MUC/OAC people in the MUC by 40+ category and all IC/East people in the IC winning.  How is this not obvious to you?

FWIW, I think Ithaca will get defeated, but I think they will hang and not get beat by more than 20.

Has anyone else heard that Mount Union can walk on water and change water into wine?

Actually Nate Kmic once went swimming in the pacific ocean and farted, that in turn created the sunami a few years ago....

Of all the years I've followed D3 football, even as a Carroll student/alum, there was only one time that I thought JCU would beat Mount...they ended up losing, but out of all these years, I would've only voted JCU will win one time.  Just because you're an IC fan doesn't mean you have to say they will win.  You can still look at the game objectively and realistically.

UPSTATE....OUTSTANDING COMMENT!

Oh my god.  You are obviously more objective than everyone else then.  Personally I voted MUC by 1-20 fwiw.  None of that matters.  Those polls are almost always school/region centric.  I apologize for the entire east region if you have felt offended by the lack of respect the anonymous voters of the Empire 8 weekly poll have bestoed on your conference.

I was going to defend the OAC posters a bit, but then I went over to thier board to read about them a bit first.  Some dood asked KnightStalker to change his sig line because it took away the focus from football!!!!

I can't defend that......just thank the good Lord only Toph has brought that mentality east.
