Here is what IC needs to do in order to be in this game.  In order of importance.

1) TACKLE.  From what Ive seen from them the past few years, the inability to tackle has hurt them the most in games they have lost.  Simple tackling.  MUC likes to run those off-tackle runs where ICs MLBs are going to have to slide over and make some plays.  ICs SS is also going to have to read the run and come up and make a play

2) Stop the big plays.  MUC has beaten teams with big plays and it will be key for IC to make sure they dont get beat deep, they dont throw awful passes, and they dont give up field posisition on special teams.

3) Do what they do well.  And I mean dont put in a bunch of new stuff for the one week.  Just practice what got you to this point and maybe change a pattern or too.  One or two successful trick plays are not going to win this game.

4) Establish a running game.  And I think by mixing up the two backs is the only way this will get done.

5) Return a kick for a score (or at least get good field position).  IC has great special teams, and if they are going to stay in this game, special teams are going to have to come into play.

And to the Ithaca fans

Mount Union is beatable but it will require near perfect execution and a little grace from God.  The one thing that sticks out most from last year is their defense....I heard about how fast they were, but I said to myself..."Come on Booby, has fast is fast".  Well they answered my question.  They swarmed all over the field, blitzing Kramer like a mofo.  It took I think a career game from Robinson to get slightly over 100 yards (only rusher to do that against them last year).  Im pretty sure there was one play where Robby broke through the line and was heading for the open field but one of Mount's D-lineman caught up and tackled him....Their D LINEMAN.  Their offense is high powered and very difficult but they aren't Godly.  It's that damn defense that will get you.  Like somebody said (maybe Tags) quick dump passes are key and pray Donovan and the O-line are up for the extreme challenge.  I really hope Ithaca can do it, that would be so amazing.  


P.S. Kmic come to Fisher plleeeease.

Yes.  So does Fisher, Wick, Utica, Norwich, and every other school in America.  

I am getting the impression that you havent run many routes throughout your career and/or dont understand the basics of a passing game.

SJF has exactly ONE pass play where the WR reads the coverage and adjusts his route according to my 03 playbook. Also, I can still go to games and pick out %99 of the plays as they are signaled in from the sideline so pretty much nothing has changed.

Excellent. That nice little video tape of your coaches signaling in the plays that the Norwich coaches filmed will work swimmingly for all the other E8 teams next season. What did you Fisher fans expect? They play in New England.

I think you guys are just joking as I re-read these posts but interestingly, at the AU game last Sat, I distinctly heard Harmon (TE) run to the sideline in the 3rd qu. and shout to the coaches:  "They know the plays we are running...they are calling out the play"!

I was going to defend the OAC posters a bit, but then I went over to thier board to read about them a bit first.  Some dood asked KnightStalker to change his sig line because it took away the focus from football!!!!

I can't defend that......just thank the good Lord only Toph has brought that mentality east.

If RPI and Mount Union win this Saterday, its gonna get real funny, real fast over in the OAC.  Just think of all the inside stuff they won't be able to figure out.  Many of them are wound a little tight whent it comes to football discussion.

Didn't even think of that....I'm cringing already.

Actually I was hoping RPI would beat SJU in 2003, cause that would have been shock and awe time.  This year, some of them have a heads up on the hijinks.

I may have to root for RPI just so they will get to have fun with the Ohitians (pronounced like Haitians only start with O he)
