I remember when Union got Ithaca in the 1st Round 2 years ago and the Ithaca posters spent the whole week assuming victory only to get gassed for about 600 yards of offense!

The trash talk leading to this game is 10X worse and heres a prediction that they get beat about 10X worse!!!

TASTE IT!

That Union game could have gone either way.  I wasnt impressed with the Oompa Loompas from Union.

Neither defense was very good. But one at least had the ability to get a stop here and there!

Outside of Ithica's OL, there was very very little talent on that Bomber squad

SJF's offense runs the routes the same vs Zone or Man.  There will be someone open vs each defense.

Wow.  Then they are the only team in america.  These are basics of an offense.  So how does a sit route get open against a man defense?  What about cover 3 vs. cover 2 or cover 4 defenses?  It still doesnt change?  Just because it doesnt diagram that in the playbook does not mean that it is not understood between coaches and players that there are conversions vs. different defenses.  Otherwise you dont account for a d's weakness.  I think you are very wrong.

Sarge... either he didnt play offense.. or he's messin with you

A) I played Center

2) I have my playbook right in front of me

III) I'll go into more detail after the post season is over

What did you guys run? Not specific, but just type of offense.

I remember last year when Union got smoked by SJF and at one point it was 42-7.....

TASTE IT!

You'll be praying to be down 42-7 at some point this weekend!
No wonder everyone hates Ithica.

1) I went to SJF....

2) Enjoy the ECAC's...

Nah.  The QB and recievers that year were pretty good.  And upstate is an SJF guy.

Ehh, like a hybrid West Coast/Spread...

Also, I'll say this, the QB's for SJF do a great job in getting the Safetys/LBers to move with looking them off and using pump fakes....

Well does AU do it?

They do a better job of it than a lot of other teams do around here...

Yes.  So does Fisher, Wick, Utica, Norwich, and every other school in America.

I am getting the impression that you havent run many routes throughout your career and/or dont understand the basics of a passing game.

SJF has exactly ONE pass play where the WR reads the coverage and adjusts his route according to my 03 playbook. Also, I can still go to games and pick out %99 of the plays as they are signaled in from the sideline so pretty much nothing has changed.

I think Upstate is off in this argument

How?

because you are saying that if you call a play that a cover two defense will stop like smash or something... and the defense comes out in a cover two you just run your patterns into the D?  Thats ridiculous

Your playbook?  so all of the plays you run at the end of the year are in your playbook?  I doubt it... stick to defensive fronts sounds like thats more your speed

I can go to a game and sit in the stands and tell you %99 of the plays that are called.  They are the same plays.

We put in maybe 2 or 3 different plays during the season....

If you get past Curry Bosox and SJF makes it past Bart you should come up to Rochester in a week and a half and test me on my theory....

If the Hawks win I'll do whatever i can to get there... i think fisher is a lock

I dont doubt you can call the plays.  I just find it hard to believe that they dont convert routes or run routes differently vs man and zone... if they dont i cant imagine how good they would be if they did

Again.  Theres a difference between changing routes and adjusting them (settling down into a zone to get open vs outrunning man coverage).  I would bet my life SJFs receivers adjust their routes to that.

Agreed...
One thing that was said was that they call a play and they run the patterns no matter what the D is and someone will be open no adjusting no checking nothing... that would really suprise me
And I'm shocked they only add two to three plays... i guess if its workin why change it but still

Im sure they dont have the whole playbook in for the first game either.  But the basic stuff is probably in there.

But back to football.........

It seems like Hartwick has some defensive problems.  But is it speed, size, quickness?
